SWF offers a quiet, laid back atmosphere for anyone looking to be around horses. Beginners always welcome! Trail Rides, Camp and Pony Parties too!

We currently have three instructors who specialize in Huntseat, Western Pleasure and Therapeutic Riding. 34 acre facility with 6 acres of board fenced pasture, daily turnout in individual paddocks, 15 stall main barn, 20x25 heated tack room, 10x10 and 10x14 matted stalls, 145x165 outdoor riding ring with stondust footing, 40' round pen, 2 wash stalls, hunt course, trails on premises and 150 acres minutes away, 24 hour on site supervision

It’s been a crazy, fabulous three days here at Sheffield!!! We were honored to host the Girl Scouts of NE, earning their Horsemanship Badges Friday night…they all did a fabulous job!! We are looking forward to having you back!! Then on to one of our biggest annual events in CT, two full days of pony rides, our adorable petting zoo and Glitter Tattoos at the Carnival in Montville! Thank you to our incredible students, horses, alpacas, goats, and Maybe, our miniature donkey, for enduring this heat, and of course Miss Lindsey, Dakota and Joan!! Feeling blessed! It’s crazy how and why we got here….but Lindsey, we couldn’t be more proud! Your first show as a professional, our incredible group of students, parents….our beloved horses!!! And let’s just welcome Carol to the farm❤️…and Finn, you rocked pony rides at the awesome Wakefield Rotary!!! We had a great crew of helpers there today! Great weekend….Naughty, you’re the best!❤️

What a great second day at Tri-State! Kayla, Hannah and Maeve showing today, Kayla and Hannah both winning their Equitation classes…Kayla coming home with Champion of the day in her division! It was great to be there and be a part of it all. Lindsey, you’re awesome!!! Thank you for all your passion and making this possible for these hard working, dedicated girls! Watson…you’re a class act gem❤️, and we’re blessed to have you to teach these girls!

What a great turnout for Touch A Truck in Quonset yesterday!! Every year it seems to get bigger and bigger! Grateful for our dedicated crew, Joan, Lindsey, Dakota, Sarah, Kayla, Maeve and Hannah… and our incredible animals❤️…always happy to do what we can for the Shriners and this amazing event! For over a month the horses have been drooling, walking past the pastures here at the farm…after being in all day yesterday with the rain, it was worth the wait!! Knee high in grass, running with their buddies, kicking up their heels, loving life! Happy Saturday everyone! 💙

The last few weeks have been full of wonderfulness here at the farm and also great sadness. Our April vacation camp was a blast with campers trail riding, lessoning, learning to drive Trillie, Miss Lindsey’s adorable mini, daily arts and crafts and simply enjoying the farm! Daffodil Days and other Easter events were a huge success and Sheffield students, boarders and horses are excited about the warmer weather and more riding!
On another note…
It is with a very heavy heart that we all lost our beloved Marcus. Thank you to our Veterinarian that was at the farm, well into the night, doing everything they could for Marcus, back again the following day and thank you to our dear friends who are Veterinarians who picked up all my phone calls at all hours. Marcus was the kindest, most noble gentleman…a farm favorite and his presence is greatly missed. We love you Marcus❤️

Summer is just around the corner and we’re excited about all the new things happening at the farm and coming to our camp season this year! Miss Lindsey will be teaching campers how to drive Trillie in the mini cart!! And we’d like to welcome Sarah Pond as our Arts and Crafts Coordinator!! Lots of exciting things to come!!
