Meet Anselmo 💛
We’re so honored to introduce this incredibly special little guy to the Retriever Rescue of Colorado community.
Anselmo is just 3 years old, and despite everything he’s been through, he remains one of the sweetest, kindest, most loving dogs you could ever meet. He has been battling some medical challenges since coming into rescue, and as we work hard to get him healthy and feeling his best, his medical care has become extensive. His bills have already climbed far beyond what we typically see for one dog, and we’re asking our amazing village of dog lovers to help us support him through it.
And if you met Anselmo… you’d understand why he’s worth every bit of the fight.
He is the kind of dog who always wants to be close—under your feet in the kitchen, curled up in your lap, or following behind hoping for a gentle pat or a treat. He adores being with his people. He loves going for short walks with his foster brother and sister around the neighborhood.
No matter how he’s feeling, his tail is almost always wagging.
He loves rolling in freshly cut grass—or wet grass—but don’t be fooled… a little rain sprinkle from the sky? Absolutely unacceptable according to Anselmo.
His favorite thing in the world is simply being with his family. He is trusting. Easygoing. Gentle. Sweet beyond words.
As his foster mom, I’ve had the privilege of watching him face so much with so much grace. Through vet visits, treatments, hard days, and uncertainty… he still greets me with a wagging tail and that hopeful little smile every single time.
Sweet really is the best word to describe him.
As we work through this next chapter of getting Anselmo healthy, we’re hoping our community might rally around him. If you’re able to donate toward his medical care, every dollar helps—and every share helps too.
I’m going to keep sharing more of Anselmo’s story with you along the way. Because this little guy is truly something special, and he deserves a whole community cheering him on.
Thank you for loving him with us. 💛
