Nobody owes you a customer.

This is probably one of the harder lessons in the reptile business.

You can spend years building a project, produce something incredible, price it exactly where you think it should be, post it for sale…

And nobody buys it.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the animal isn’t great or that your price is wrong.

It means producing something and creating demand for it are two completely different jobs.

I think breeders sometimes forget that.

We spend so much time thinking about genetics, pairings, feeding, husbandry, and what we want to produce that it’s easy to ignore the other half of running a business.

You still have to earn people’s attention and trust. You have to answer messages, take good pictures, explain what makes something special, build a reputation, and actually learn how to sell.

Putting something on MorphMarket and waiting isn’t a marketing strategy.

If you want to treat breeding like a business, eventually you have to learn the business part too.
