100+ Acres of Hope. One All-Inclusive Solution. 🐾🏠

​We've always joked that Mayhem’s Home is about turning survivors into sidekicks.

Today the vision just got a whole lot bigger.

​We are officially working on the Mayhem Ranch Initiative—a 100+-acre ecosystem near Chiloquin, Oregon, designed to break the cycle of crisis for good.

​This isn't just a rescue ranch. It’s a blueprint for a better life. We’re building a place where:

✨ Housing is a right: A dignified Conestoga Village for those coming off the mountain.

✨ Purpose is a career: From our Whelp-to-Service dog training to the Chaos & Co. creative manufacturing hub we help people find their purpose in employment.

✨ Barriers are removed: Onsite daycare means parents can work and train without the "childcare cliff" holding them back.

✨ The economy is circular: Our future Mayhem Madness retail store will turn donations into local jobs and housing stipends.

​We aren't just saving lives; we’re building a community where humans and animals heal together, work together, and thrive together.

​It’s bold. It’s big. It’s Mayhem. And we’re just getting started. 🌲✨

Every now and then a special rescue comes in. A case of abuse... Neglect.... Extreme trauma in the brain of a small animal and they're aggressive from fear.

Fight or flight locks in and if they can't flee, it's a battle to the death even if that's not what they want.

Garland and I have spent 3 years doing the dance of trust, safety, reactivity, and calming back to baseline.

3 years has gotten this boy from needing mittens and chain mail to be handled to napping on a new male figure like a pro.

He's not adoptable because of his reactivity and the fact that he may always have a hair trigger if the stressors are just right. But that doesn't mean he can't be a happy boy, lounging with people he knows are safe and teaching other dogs the ropes of the rescue.

Trauma rewires the brain, some of the work we do allows less severe reactivity to calm and disappear with time and patience.

Before Mayhem’s Home had a name...I was a child who dreamed of storms and animals slipping away because there were more lives than one person could hold.

I woke up knowing two things:

That I would always try...

and that someday, I would need to build something that made trying survivable.

Today that something is Mayhem’s Home and it began as one human choosing to stay when frightened animals could not.

We are embarking on big things this year, bringing Mayhem Ranch to life so we can change more lives and be the safe harbor in the rough seas of life.

So thank you to everyone who believes in us. Who has supported us through bad managers, broken communication, and the journey that is growth... Painful but necessary.

2026 we move from pilot (proof of concept) to the transition from home based care to a sustainable operations model.

It’s solved at least three problems. (3 fewer breeders out there!)

We did it! Alder (Spider Twin B 🕷️) was adopted today. His team of heroes have a League Meeting to attend. They will take him to his new lair next weekend!

At Mayhem’s Home for Wayward Animals, we believe no pet should be surrendered—or suffer—because their family couldn’t afford basic vet care. That’s why we’re launching a fundraiser to expand our spay and neuter assistance fund and keep pets with the people who love them.

We’ve applied for a grant to cover 130 life-changing surgeries this year—but we need your help to meet the growing demand in our community. Every dollar donated helps us say “yes” to families who want to do the right thing but are struggling to afford it.
