Southwest Florida House Rabbit Rescue We strive to elevate their status to that of other indoor companion animals. Come support our mission to help these furry friends find a loving home!

SWFL House Rabbit Rescue is a volunteer-driven nonprofit (EIN 47-4984239) dedicated to saving the lives of domestic rabbits through education, advocacy, and adoption. Southwest Florida House Rabbit Rescue was founded in 2015 with a mission to bring "Respect for Rabbits.” We strive to elevate the status of domestic rabbits in our society to the level of other indoor companion animals. Our rescue wo

rks with local animal services, community members, and rescue partners to rescue rabbits from abuse, neglect, hoarding, and abandonment. We are dedicated to saving the lives of domestic rabbits through exceptional education, advocacy, and adoption. We offer comfortable boarding, stress-free bonding, personalized bunny consultations for behavioral issues, and Bunny 101 training for current and aspiring owners. Contact us for fees and more information. Our rescue operates through a loving network of foster homes across Southwest Florida, rather than a central shelter. To meet any rabbits you’re interested in, just give us a call or text to schedule a visit—we’d love to help you meet your future bunny! EIN 47-4984239

Two babies have found their forever homes today and the other two have pending applications. The rescue ensures that all rabbits are spayed or neutered when they reach the appropriate age.

🚨 Aurora Needs a Forever Home by September 25th! 🚨

Aurora is a 1.5-year-old princess bun with a plush coat, a gentle spirit, and a heart full of love. Rescued from a hoarding situation, she even raised eight babies her very first night in safety. Now she’s ready to claim her own forever castle — with hay buffets, cozy lounging, and endless cuddles.

Aurora would thrive as a pampered single bun or with a mellow “hus-bun,” and she’s comfortable around gentle cats and small dogs. But time is short — her foster home can only keep her until September 25th, which means we have just 20 days to help this princess find her throne. 🏰

💌 If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now’s the moment. Apply today and give Aurora the happily-ever-after she deserves. www.respectforrabbits.org/adopt

Check out rescue alumni Ari and Percy serving as bunny ambassadors at Ray V. Pottorf Elementary School!

𝑹𝒂𝒃𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎 𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒔. But, under the right circumstances, they can serve as wonderful ambassadors to help students and parents learn how to house them properly, provide the right care, and treat them with respect. 💜

Our rabbit ambassadors are:
✔️ Carefully chosen for their gentle temperament and emotional needs
✔️ Only present for a few hours of supervised education
✔️ Always returned to their loving foster homes at night

They’re never passed from student to student—they’re there purely to teach. Their foster parents stay close, watching for any signs of stress, because a rabbit’s wellbeing always comes first.

Adopt! For $100 you get a rabbit that is properly sexed, fixed, chipped, medically cared for and we give you proper education on care and handling. With a petstore and breeder you likely get next to nothing and they charge more. We also take back any rabbits adopted from us if it doesn't work out. We have lots of breeds and all ages too! Our bonded pairs are wonderful and we've done the hard part of bonding already.
