We had a fun time Cross Creek Farm Canine Water Sports judging FETCH and Farm Dog this weekend while doing some dock jumping with one of our dogs. Congratulations to FETCH and Farm Dog participants and title holders.

Remember, our next event is PetFest this weekend at England-Idlewild Park for some fun games and our next FETCH Test is November 9th in Cincinnati, OH at Bicentennial Park.

Classes - Puppy Fundamentals, Basic Foundation Skills, and Intro to Scent Work classes start next week - September 22nd and September 24th at Doggie Paddles in Florence

Cross Creek in New Richmond, OH is holding a Try It All Event this weekend - September 20-21. This event will have dock diving, barn hunt, shed hunt, fetch test, farm dog test, and more

PetFest is Sunday September 28th at England-Idlewild Park in Burlington. We will be holding our annual Games there, as well as CGC/CGCA Testing, and AKC Trick Dog. The games start at 1:00pm. CGC/CGCA/Trick Dog start at 2:00pm. You must register (free) for the games by coming to our booth and signing up. If testing for CGC/CGCA, please email us, but can also sign up at our booth by 1:00pm.

Congratulations to Tinkerbell, Rue, and Finn for finishing Intro to Odor 1. They all made good progress in class and learned to recognize Birch, Anise, and Clove, the three most commonly scents used for the sport of Nose Work.

We look forward to seeing them in Intro to Odor 2 which is learning about Vehicles and Exteriors.

The next Intro to Scent Work class will be starting Wednesday, September 10th. Let us know if you are interested in this class.

Congratulations to our students Fred, Frank, Giovanni, and Charlie for completing Basic Foundation Skills class. They all worked hard and made improvements. All these dogs are in the midst of adolescence which can be a tough period of time. We hope to see them again in future training.

Next Basic Foundation Skills class starts September 15th. Let us know if you want to get on our email for all the details of that class.

The Bluegrass Classic Dog Show starts today and runs through Monday at the KY Horse Park. Thousands of dogs worldwide attend this event.

There are many events to watch - conformation, obedience, rally, dock diving, fast cat, cat. Entries are Pre-Entry though there can be some day of show entries - dock diving, CGC testing, Farm Dog, ATT Testing. There are several health clinics and a number of different vendors as well.

This show can be great if you want to see certain breed dogs or get a chance to talk to handlers about their breeds or just watch some performance events.

Congratulations to our Puppy students - Keegan, Bonsai, and Boba for completing Puppy Fundamental Skills and passing their AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test. They all did great, and we had a fun time with them.

Intro to Odor I students had a great time last week working on Birch and Anise odors in class. They worked both containers and interiors - small space and a little elevation.

This week, puppies worked on socialization and cooperative care for vet and grooming handling. They worked on introductions to wearing attire, being on the table, having a stethoscope touch them, brushing, toenail trimming/ dremeling, wearing an e-cone, and placing their muzzle through a basket muzzle. These are all good things to practice.
