He’s here!!! Our calf was born early this morning. Our first time mama, Oreo, delivered all on her own and did great! The boys are calling this bull calf “nameless” for now as we figure out his name. Him and Mama are doing great!!

As much as we want to witness the births as they happen, we’re glad to to have cows that are able to birth unassisted. I love finding calves in the field in the morning!

We just have to give some love to one of our favorite local spots — Sweet Pea’s Mercantile! 💚

Carrie has created the most charming shop, full of beautiful homegoods, thoughtful gifts, and seriously amazing produce. It’s the kind of place you always find something you didn’t know you needed! The owners and staff are so kind and helpful too!

We’re lucky to have them right down the road, and we stop in often!

Huge thank you to Carrie and her team for helping us keep up with the appetite of our pigs 🐖 — they generously share their past-date produce with us, and our animals love it.

Our belted Galloway, Oreo, is due to calve any day now. I’ve been creeping around and peaking at her constantly.

This will be her first calf so we’re a bit nervous to see how she does.
