Today’s rescue started at around 3am. Someone reached out to me about this kitten. After a very long day, she ended up with us around 430 this afternoon.
We are not sure what happened, but her two front feet have been decapitated. She possibly got caught in a trap, maybe in a piece of farm
Equipment and I hate to think that someone purposely did this to her. She is not a feral kitten, she had to of belonged to someone. She is very friendly and personable.
I consulted with one of our vets this afternoon and the wounds seem to be a few days old and not fresh. The wounds have been cleaned and she will see the vet tomorrow. I’m not sure what all will need to be done, but she will definitely need antibiotics, maybe some pain meds and she will need to get vaccinated.
We will give an update on Stormie later tomorrow evening.
We don’t normally take on kittens (once in awhile) but we had a foster that didn’t have any current fosters. So little Stormie will be able to get more one on one care. Thank you to Catina and Ginny for fostering her for us. Thank you to the others who offered to help and Dr Shrum for consulting with me today.
Stormie will be available at a later date to a special home.
Please keep Stormie in your good vibes, thoughts and prayers. 🩷
