This position is very demanding, physically and mentally. This job requires someone with stamina, great work ethics, and high values. It takes roughly 3 months to be fully trained. This is not a job for someone who wants a quick fun temporary job.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dog Boarding Attendant to join our team. As a Dog Boarding Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and happiness of our guests. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who have a passion for animals and customer service.
Duties
* Supervise and monitor dogs during play times to ensure their safety and well-being.
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and well-being.
* Maintain cleanliness in kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
* Administer medications or treatments as directed by pet owners.
* Monitor behavior and health, promptly reporting any concerns to the management team.
* Intuitive, able to adapt to stressful and busy times.
Requirements
* Previous experience in kennel work, is a plus but not required. Higher starting pay for those who come with kennel experience.
* Dog handling is required.
* Able to work independently with no supervision.
* Required to know how to properly handle and manage difficult dogs.
* Knowledge of animal care practices and basic veterinary procedures is a plus (Veterinary technician or assistant experience is advantageous).
* Strong customer service skills to effectively interact with pet owners.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks.
* A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, all holidays and school breaks. Working on all holidays is required including working on thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Job Type: Part-time 25-35 hours. More hours during holidays, school breaks, and summer months.
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour depending on experience. Higher pay for those who come with kennel work experience.
