Available in Fair Hill, MD: Sweet OTTB gelding ready for his new home!

SS Flat Out Fun is a 5 year old, 15.2 1/2 hand, bay gelding who came to us in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town. He raced 8 times without ever crossing the line first and is here to pursue new career options! This cute guy is by D'Funnybone and out of a Flatter mare.

"Gilligan" had a great intake evaluation with our vet who found him sound and in great shape for his next career without any limitations. He has been enjoying his downtime on the farm, making great friends in turnout and being one all our volunteers enjoy handling and working with.

Gilligan had his first ride with us recently and was a good boy. While he started out a little tense and unsure, he quickly settled into the ride and did some nice walk/trot work around our extra-large round pen. We believe it will be onward and upward from there now that he's had his first ride under his belt. He seems very eager to please.

He has been a very sweet boy to handle. He enjoys being groomed and has no vices. He's currently wearing front shoes and has no special needs. He's ready for an adopter who enjoys restarting an OTTB and should make for a very fun project. Worth taking a chance on!

Also, tall riders should not be discouraged from giving him a chance. He is built very wide through his shoulder and rib cage and will take up a surprising amount of leg.

Ever hear the idiom: a good stallion makes and even better gelding? That's certainly true of TizAFastBullet who has won over the hearts of everyone at ATR. This sweet and easy gelding is ready for his new home and will likely be a dream for the right adult amateur (or professional)!

"Dash" is a 5 year old, 15.3 hand, dark bay gelding who arrived in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town. He raced 29 times pretty consistently, and retired as his career naturally began to wind down. He was gelded in June and has been nothing but a professional, sweet boy to work with! He is by Bullet Gone Astray and out of a Tizway mare.

Everyone who interacts with Dash is very impressed with his temperament and easy way of going. He will make someone a very special partner. He had a great intake evaluation with our vet who found him very sound and clean. She did hear a very quiet murmur during his intake that is only audible on the left side. She said it was very mild and should not cause him any limitations, saying he should be able to go in any direction!

Dash has been turned out in a paddock adjacent to another gelding and the two have gotten along so well. We suspect he'll adjust to turnout with other geldings very easily. Dash is ready to be restarted and while we hope to do that soon, he is available for adoption to someone who will enjoy restarting him themselves. We suspect he's going to be very straightforward.

This is one incredibly sweet gelding with no vices. While he may be a fun project for an adult amateur, there's no reason professionals shouldn't take a look at this guy as well. He's pretty special!

Everyone say hi to our newest horse, Kid’s Rock. We were told that he was too big to race and meeting him we see why!

Kids Rock is a 4 year old gelding who stands at just over 17.1 hands. He never raced and our vet found him to be sound and good to go. Kid’s Rock has been enjoying his turnout and is very sweet to handle. More details can be found on our website.

For all the Tenax fans out there, he's back in action after recovering from an injury he sustained in turnout. The vet cleared him today for return to turnout and said he could go back to work any time as well.

We're a little short handed (sorry, Stacey, no pun intended) right now so we can't predict when we'll have time to restart him, so preference will be given to approved adopters with the experience to restart him. He should be a really fun one to being along!

If you've been approved to adopt and have been waiting for your next horse to appear: now's the time to look! There are so many nice horses available now including Don'tCallTooEarly, a 16.3+ hand gelding with a big heart.

Don'tCallTooEarly is a big, 6 year old, bay gelding who originally came to us in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town. He is a bit of a warhorse after running 46 times and retiring sound! This sweet guy is by Real Estate and out of an Our Emblem mare. He was recently returned due to financial hardship his adopter was facing, and no fault of his own.

Don'tCallTooEarly, in addition to having a name I can relate to, has no vices and is very good in turnout with other horses. After racing 46 times, his legs aren't visually perfect but he's very sound. He also stayed sound in work with is previous adopter doing some dressage, small jumping courses, and some cross country training. Our vet thought he would do really well in most disciplines at most levels, though upper level eventers may want to consider a PPE.

Early has settled back in very well with us and loves attention. While we haven't had a chance yet to ride him since his return, we have been doing some ground work in the round pen and have done some lunging in the arena with him as well and he's been very good to work with.

If you're willing to take a chance on a really big guy, with a big heart to match, he's worth considering!
