Arington Training Stable is owned and operated by experienced horseman Dave Arington. Full service horse training & a limited amount of riding lessons are available. Dave Arington has devoted over 40 years to the study and training of horses, founding Arington Training Stable in 1977. His life’s work has include

d starting colts for various disciplines as well as training horses for roping, general riding, carriage driving, and various other tasks. His training program focuses on taking time to form a trusting relationship between horse and rider. Training techniques include ground handling as well as ground driving and various methods to promote a horse’s gradual acceptance of human interaction, riding, and/or driving. There is no method of expediting these changes; time and consistency are required to achieve the best possible results with each horse. Pricing options at Arington Training Stable are as follows:

Monthly rates:
• Riding Training (Board and lessons included): $1500
• Driving Training (Board and lessons included): $1500
• Roping Training (Board and lessons included): $1800

Single Session Rates:
• Riding lesson on a horse provided by Dave (1 hour): $70
• Riding lesson on your horse (1 hour): $60
• Roping lesson on Dave’s horse OR your horse (2 hour): $80
• Driving lesson on Dave’s horse OR your horse (2 hour): $80
• Horse Evaluation: $50 per hour
• Training on your riding or driving horse at a location away from Arington Training Stable (2 hour): $100
• -Trailer in fee (for those wishing to use Arington Training Stable’s facilities): $50

⭐️Today’s Tip ⭐️: Make sure your horse has access to supplemental salt!

There’s all kinds of opinions about loose salt vs blocks, etc. but we won’t get into the weeds on that. Bottom line, horses should have free access to some form of plain salt. Many times over the years, horses have came in for training and went after provided salt like they’d never had any before!

This nice stout 2022 gelding was turned out over the winter to grow, but he’s back in work and available for sale! Great bone structure and attitude. Currently measures a little over 15 hands. He’s a Haflinger (small draft type breed)x AQHA Quarter horse cross so offers all the benefits of a crossbred!

Started slow and right with lots of ground work. Currently has 50+ rides and gaining more mileage by the day. Walks, trots, lopes and crosses water, tarps, poles/logs, tires, etc. Super easy going, more whoa than go, & the type of horse to easily go in any direction!
