Vaccinations:
You already know that one of the most effective ways of protecting your pet’s health is to provide immunization against various common and sometimes deadly diseases. Our policy is to provide the best well-tested combinations of protection for your pet. Dental Care:
Increasingly, our clients have become aware of the fact that it’s just as important to have their pet’s teeth examined and cleaned on a regular basis as it is to protect their own teeth and gums. Our specialized services include cleaning, polishing, tooth extraction and oral surgery. Dietary Planning:
A sound diet is vital to the health of your pet at any age. Let’s discuss what your friend needs – including dietary requirements essential for proper weight maintenance, performance, growth, and as an aid in the treatment of some diseases at every stage of your pet's life. Regular Health Examinations:
It’s important to detect medical problem as early as possible, just as periodic checkups are wonderfully reassuring if no problem exists. The care which starts with a puppy or a kitten can pay extra dividends once your companion becomes geriatric. Convenience:
We fully understand the fact that you maintain a busy schedule. That’s why we do everything we can to simplify your life as a pet owner. For example, you can drop off your pet as early as 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. We also provide professional boarding. Emergency Services:
Dr. Gibson takes emergency calls until 9:30 p.m. when available. When not available, emergency care is provided by The Animal Emergency Center located at 1220 Airway Blvd.

If you've been putting off a vet visit — because of cost, because you're not sure where to start, or just because it feels overwhelming — we want you to know: walking in is the whole step.
We see patients without appointments most days. We'll explain everything we find and never pressure you into anything. And if cost is a concern, ask about our payment options.

A corneal ulcer can go from minor irritation to a serious problem in 48 hours. And it usually starts with something that looks like "just a little squinting."
Eyes are one of the things we always want to see quickly. Swipe through the signs that mean walk in today vs. what can wait.

What happens when only one testicle descends in a dog or cat? 🐶🐱

This condition is called cryptorchidism, which means one or both testicles remain hidden in the abdomen or groin instead of descending normally.

It may not cause obvious symptoms, but the retained testicle has a higher risk of painful twisting and developing cancer later in life. Pets with only one descended testicle may also remain fertile, and because the condition can be inherited, they should not be bred.

Treatment typically involves surgically removing both testicles. The sooner it is identified and addressed, the better we can protect your pet from future complications.

Only seeing one? Give us a call to schedule an exam.

The annual wellness exam isn't a formality. It's how we catch what can't be seen, and ask the questions your pet can't answer. Swipe through to see what the visit actually covers — you might be surprised.

Dog parks are a gift for the right dog. They can also be stressful, overstimulating, or a parasite exposure risk — depending on the dog and the day.

Here's what we tell our clients before their first park visit: keep vaccines current, know your dog's body language before you go, and in El Paso summers, time it for morning or evening. Worth a quick read before your next trip.

We've said goodbye to a lot of pets over 50 years. And what we've learned is this: the families who catch the changes early get more time.
After age 7, the annual visit isn't enough. This carousel explains what shifts after that birthday and why twice-yearly checkups become one of the most important things you can do.

The dog who won't stop licking their paws. The recurring ear infection. The belly that stays red all summer.
These aren't separate problems. They're often the same problem: allergies.
We see a lot of this in El Paso, especially during monsoon season. If it keeps coming back, let's find out why.
