Janou-Jelke v. Hermesheem ("Judy"), the mother of Claire and grandmother of Claire's 13 pups, passed yesterday at the ripe age of 15 years and 5 months. It was a long and productive life with hunting and puppies and companionship, but time takes its toll on all of us. Each time I visited Jerrie and Rita over the years, I feared that it would be the last time I would see Judy. It has come to pass.

Dog show weekend. Claire came along. Sam had strong competition but took Best of Breed. Later I’m going to run Sam in the FastCAT. It’s a timed dash just for fun.

Little Bincks! The veterinarian performed a quality check on the thawed semen before insemination. Of course, there's a video. Motility was excellent.

Gracie has reached the magic moment in her heat cycle. Today she underwent the first of two transcervical inseminations. The second will be tomorrow. Binck's semen arrived in great condition and the procedure went well.

Gracie X Binck, Puppies Expected Early Fall, 2021

This is an exciting breeding. Binck is a handsome boy with excellent conformation and is an active hunter in the Netherlands. Gracie is sweet girl and typical Drent living the good life in Southern California. Both of Gracie’s parents are from the Netherlands and accomplished hunters. Both Binck and Gracie have wonderful temperaments and should produce beautiful, smart, and affectionate puppies with good household manners. Litter approved by Drentsche Patrijshond Club of North America.
