Hard to believe it's been 13 years since Mule went to the duck pond in the sky. What a dog!

Amazing personality, absolutely loved his work, the most honest retriever, perfect gentleman in the house, and just an all- around great dog.
Mule showed his talents early, as a pup would sit facing the pond, waiting for someone to throw a bumper so he could fetch it up. He never considered anything except the straightest route to and from his birds no matter what obstacles were in his path, and running the bank was not an option. He lived to hunt birds and was just as incredible on upland birds as he was on waterfowl.
His personality endeared him to all he met, so sweet yet so funny when he would vocalize, trying to talk you into playing some more. If you ignored him he would toss a bumper at your feet, back up and look at you as if to say, “Are you going to throw it or not?”
Mule was the first Boykin spaniel to earn the Grand Hunting Retriever title and is the only spaniel in the HRC 2500 point club.
He won the Boykin Spaniel Society National Open Championship three times. Even when his health started to fail him his heart let him play and at age 12 competed in CBSRC club trials earning the Champion Hunter title.
I miss that sweet, sweet boy. Pam Kadlec

Only one pair of Mallards survived the predators. This is their second hatch. Hopefully these will make it.
