The veterinarian co-owners of Chowan Animal Hospital — Christian Ford, DVM, and Ruston Howell, DVM — believed the Inner Banks and Outer Banks region of eastern North Carolina needed a quality boarding facility for dogs that could provide safe and comfortable accommodations in a convenient location. First, and foremost, a boarding facility adjacent to an animal hospital would provide pet owners pea

ce of mind; and second, the location just off Route 17 (a major corridor in eastern North Carolina), would be a ideal for vacationers to conveniently leave and pick up their pets. Ford and Howell didn’t set out to create just another boarding facility; they wanted it to be the best it could be. After extensive research, they put together all the best features they found to create a one-of-a kind boarding experience. Amenities:
*IP camera with ability to view your dog via the web or an app on your mobile device
*Audio playing relaxing music in each room
*Reduced ambient noise from insulated walls and solid exterior doors
*Windows allowing natural light and fresh air during mild weather
*Separate a/c vent and return in each room
*UV light to kill bacteria and viruses installed in the HVAC unit
*Impermeable antibacterial flooring
*3100 square foot artificial turf play area surrounded by 6 foot vinyl coated chain fence with IP camera to watch your dog while they are outside
*Raised bedding
*Bathroom/exercise breaks 4 times daily from 8am to 8pm
*IMAX security system with linked smoke detectors

Premier and luxury boarding includes:
*convenient check out times on Saturday and Sunday: Saturday 8am–12pm, 3–4pm, 7–8pm; Sunday 9–10am, 3–4pm, 7–8pm
*Optional TLC package that includes individual play time with a staff member daily with pictures texted to your mobile device
