It has been a tough month for our family, and today was just as tough 😭
RIP Casablanca's Kodak
We purchased Kody from Debbie after our good friend Allison Ballinger and I were talking, and she had said to tell Debbie I wanted the heavy patterned buck. A couple of messages, and a week later, he made it to the great North. He had a wonderful show career, including several BIS wins. Kodak put his stamp on his offspring but was not the easiest buck to have in the barn. He was a bit shy 🤭 I will always appreciate what he has done for our herd, leaving us several offspring, but more importantly, what he hads done for my kiddos. He was the sweetest most patient buck, and I know he is the main reason Eva loves her brokens so much. He helped my kiddos develop their love for this hobby and will be very missed ❤️

Eva and I made the short trip to the Marshfield, WI show on Saturday. It was a great showing of Mini Rex with just about 100 in open.

In Open under Kevin Stanford we took BOB with our Black Jr. Buck BB's Buddy and BOS with BB's Billy Jean.
Under Zach Sauer, BB's Billy Jean was BOB and BOS was BB's Buddy. She went on to win BIS! This was her 2nd BIS 🖤

Eva was really happy with her youth placings, winning many of the Broken classes and she was BOS under Ellis Wojik with BB's ?? Blue Jr. Buck.

It was nice visiting with mini rex friends and thank you to the judges for recognizing our animals.

Convention entries were finalized last night and I spent the morning adding 30 animals into Evans and updating fall breedings. I'm usually better at staying on top of things but it's harvest and things are crazy 🤪 😜

We took a trip to the RCBAC show in Stillwater over the weekend. It was a bit hot but we made the best of it.
Open: BOSG in all 5 shows with either our Sr. or Jr. Black bucks. A huge congrats to all the winners especially my besties Jacque and Shari for winning their first BIS!!!!!

Youth Satins: Theresa Christen: BOB with his black 6/8 black buck.
Gene Johnston: BOB and BISS for the Specialty show with his 6/8 black buck.
Henry no longer wants my help at the table but I am so proud of how he's progressed this last year.

A little about us

Welcome, our rabbitry started with my sister Blair and I almost 20 years ago while we were in 4H. It was a hobby that we really enjoyed and began to show in ARBA shows. Over the years we have raised a number of different breeds along with our Mini Rex including American Fuzzy Lops, Satins, and French Lops. But now together, with my mom Marta we exclusively raise Mini Rex and a small herd of Satins.
