šŸ‹Sisters Gabriella and Ellianna stopped by our recent open house with a big surprise. Each summer they run a lemonade stand and donate the money they raise to a different local charity. This year they chose the center and were so excited to present us with a check for $890!

Thank you Gabriella and Ellianna for making a difference for our animals and so many others in our community. You are totally pawsome! šŸ¾

Poetry is not dead and itā€™s making a difference for animals in need. Back in the spring Writing the Way Home - literary work by Arielle reached out with a unique idea to help some of our long term residents, Ren & Stimpy and Nova, get adopted. Through poetry, Arielle told their stories in a new way. And she didnā€™t stop there. Determined to help find them a home, she also sponsored Novaā€™s adoption fee. All three animals are now enjoying life with their new families and their adopters have a special keepsake. Novaā€™s adopters also paid it forward, sponsoring the adoption fee for another long term resident, Brigid.

Arielle will once again be using her words (and her really cool typewriter) to give back to the animals at CAHW. Sheā€™ll be joining us for the Homestead Kennels & Cattery Grand Reopening on Saturday, September 12 from 10am-2pm. Arielle will be doing custom poetry in the spot and donating a portion of the proceeds back to CAHW. Come get a poem just for you - or maybe your favorite four-legged friend.

šŸ¦A sweet treat for an even sweeter boy. Tater is a volunteer favorite and if thereā€™s one thing our volunteers like to do, itā€™s spoil him. And while he loves to go on Dogā€™s Day Out adventures, the thing heā€™d love the most is a forever home. Letā€™s give this boy the sweetest treat there is and help him find it. Please consider adopting Tater and if you canā€™t adopt, please share.
