Summer is a great time to bring home your new best friend. And we have so many amazing dogs like C**t who are waiting to wiggle their way right into your heart.

Looking to adopt? Stop by today or any Tuesday throughout the Summer. Not only are we extending our hours from 12-6, but we are also accepting walk in appointments for our canine residents.

We recommend arriving by 5pm to ensure we are able to assist you.

**Closure of Project PAW - Effective June 29th**

Since 1913, The Center for Animal & Welfare has been committed to finding permanent homes for homeless cats and dogs in the Lehigh Valley. As we continue to focus on providing our animals with the best care possible while also looking to expand support for pet parents in our community, we have made the difficult decision to close Project PAW, our second location in Downtown Easton.

In addition to housing a thrift store and cat café, Project PAW has served as a community resource for the last three years, offering no cost programs for kids and pet food banks twice per month. While the way we deliver those programs and support may look different moving forward, our commitment to the animals and our community remains the same.

We understand that many community members depend on us to help feed their pets and are working with a partner organization to ensure our food banks continue without interruption. More details will be announced soon, including food bank dates and locations for July.

Project PAW will close on June 29. Beginning Saturday, June 14, we will be holding a closing sale and all items in our thrift store will be fifty percent off. We hope you’ll stop by.

Thank you to all those who have supported Project PAW as visitors, shoppers, adopters and donors. You have helped make a difference for so many people and pets, and we are so grateful for your support.

While we are sad that Project PAW’s doors will be closing soon, we look forward to the great things to come and can’t wait to share them with you.

Thank you again for your support of Project PAW and The Center for Animal Health & Welfare!

*Please note that the closure of Project PAW will not impact operations at The Center for Animal Health & Welfare’s main location at 1165 Island Park Rd in Easton*

Project PAW is located at 452 Northampton St, Easton, PA 18042

💦Cardi hopes you’re keeping cool! She beat the heat with a little swim during a special outing today.

If you’re looking for an adventure buddy, cuddle partner and fetch champion all in one, Cardi might just be your gal.

A little bit about her:

🎾 Toy Fanatic – Her motto is “throw, chase, repeat”
🧠 Smart + Food & Toy Motivated – Ready to learn cool stuff, especially when incentives are involved
🛻 Road Trip Ready – Rides great in the car
👟 Adventure Dog – Trail runs, hikes, zoomies —count her in
🛋️ Snuggle Time Expert – Plays hard, cuddles harder
👧 Kid Friendly - Because they also know what silliness is all about
🐶 Dog tolerant – Co-exists with other dogs, but hasn’t really tried to play with them
🚫No cats

🍋🥨As schools are wrapping up for the year and students are celebrating all that they’ve accomplished, we’re celebrating the amazing kids at March Elementary! In May, they organized the Paws for a Cause Lemonade and Pretzel Sale to help make a difference for our animals. Recently, Rusty and a few members of the CAHW crew had the opportunity to participate in their monthly assembly where they presented us with a check for $600! What an pawsome surprise! We are so thankful and grateful for their kindness.

A moment that was 56,160 minutes in the making. On April 21, Star (left) and Nova (right) were seen running together on a road near the shelter. Star was hit by a car, ran off and could not be found. Nova was picked up by a Good Samaritan and brought to us. Nova was terrified when she arrived. She shook at the sight of new people, her tail was tucked and her eyes were filled with a sadness that broke our hearts. Slowly she began to come out of her shell. Her sadness was replaced with excitement, her fear replaced with gentle kisses. Still, weeks passed without us knowing what had happened to the dog she had been seen with. Then, almost a month later, we were contacted about a dog that had been spotted and caught by some other Good Samaritans in our community. As soon as we saw her, there was no question. It had to be Nova’s companion. We named her Star. Star was in rough shape after fending for herself for so long. Since arriving, she has been receiving the medical care and TLC she so desperately needed. A few days ago, Star and Nova were reuinited and started spending some time together. Yesterday we captured this. We may never know how Star and Nova found their way to us or what their past was like. But we do know that they can both rest easy now, and just like their names, their future is bright.

Nova is currently available for adoption and Star will be soon. If you are interested in giving them a loving forever home, please contact us at [email protected].

Rusty is patiently waiting to meet new friends at the end of the parade route. He was the pawfect pup (as always) while our volunteers set up our table and tent. We think he deserves lots of pets! Come meet him!
