Foster or Adopter Needed!!

Meet Benny — a 125-pound gentle giant with an even bigger heart. ❤️

At 4 years old (birthday: April 18), this stunning Irish Wolfhound/Chow mix is the kind of dog who becomes deeply devoted to his people. Benny is house trained, professionally trained, fantastic on walks, and absolutely loves car rides and human attention. Everywhere he goes, people fall in love with his sweet nature and calm companionship.

Benny thrives around people and has never shown any guarding behavior with humans in the four years he has been loved and cared for. Because of his size, he has not been around children often, but he has always been handled responsibly and carefully. Benny does need to be the only pet in the home due to resource guarding with other dogs. He deserves a family that can give him the structure, love, and one-on-one attention where he can truly thrive as the center of someone’s world.

His current owner is beyond heartbroken to have to make this decision. Due to a forced move into a much smaller living situation, it will no longer be SAFE or physically possible to keep her dogs separated in the home. This decision comes purely from love and wanting the best future possible for Benny.

Benny is looking for a calm, loving home where he can be your one and only best friend. In return, he’ll give endless loyalty, companionship, and love. 🐾

Petey Update! on Instagram, Petey was adopted! His mom sent us this pic of him prepping to go to Maine. 🤣 We always knew he was Adventure Pete but this really solidifies it! We're so happy Petey found his forever home and is living his best life.

Petey update! Petey's been going on hike training since the summer and now has a BFF, Louie. They ride in the car together, go hiking, and meet other dogs and people. Petey has been doing great meeting new dogs and is also able to ignore them if they don't want to meet (yay for impulse control!) Petey is 5 years old, ~60 lbs and is dog friendly! He's currently in a foster home in Southern CT. Expect to see more updates on Petey soon!

Our friends at Lead the Pack Dog Training are hosting a toy drive for the pups at Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center. As you can imagine, the life of a shelter dog is tedious and unrelenting. These toys can give the pups some much needed mental stimulation and reprieve from the monotony of cell life. We are hoping you will consider supporting this drive! 🎾🐶

Some of our notable Islip alumni include the famous Autumn and Gumbo, Bo (formerly name Mellow at the shelter) and Big Bertha to name a few. When we pull from shelters, we often focus on dogs with substantial medical needs, as is the case with the aforementioned pups. These dogs otherwise go overlooked, but we have a special place in our hearts for them. ❤️

These 3 dogs are looking for a foster or adopter (does not have to be together) because the owner is losing his housing. The were originally rescues in Florida by the owners ex (she left them with him when they broke up). The owner said they are sweet, energetic dogs.

The brown dog is Mammas. She is around 5 and was a street dog.

Ellis is the Rottweiler looking one. She is 2 and Mammas is her mom.

Sully is the brindle boy. He is around 18 months.

All are spayed/ neutered. We have not met any of these dogs but we can put you in contact with their owner if you're interested in fostering or adopting (, [email protected], 516-714-4403).

Here’s some Saturday good news!!

Our love-a-bull rascals, Butch and Sneak have been ADOPTED! These two are absolute gems who we pulled from Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center. They sure hit the jackpot in their new home. We love happy endings 🙂
