It was truly an honor to attend the National Finals Rodeo this year as your Miss Indian Rodeo 2026! Here are a couple of my favorite moments. 🩷

The royalty were incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic about the representation, creating a meaningful and uplifting experience. I had the opportunity to connect with several outstanding NFR and INFR influencers within the industry, as well as spend time visiting with supporters and community members.✨

And this was only the beginning of our day—we’re excited to close out the weekend on a high note and finish strong❣️

Today, we honor National Day of the Horse, a day that recognizes the strength, beauty, and spirit of the horse. 🐴

In Navajo (Diné) culture, the horse is far more than an animal—it is a sacred relative and a gift that brought balance, survival, and freedom to our people. ✨

The horse represents power, protection, movement, and harmony with the natural world. When the horse came into Diné life, it transformed travel, hunting, and trade, strengthening our connection to the land and to one another.

Horses carry prayers, stories, and teachings, reminding us to move through life with respect, humility, and purpose.

On this day, we give thanks to the horse for its loyalty and guidance, and we honor the responsibility we carry to care for them in a good way. May we continue to walk in hózhó—beauty, balance, and harmony—alongside our horses, just as our ancestors did. 🪶

Thank you to the City of Gallup and the Gallup Chamber, for inviting and welcoming me to their Christmas Parade❣️☃️❄️

It was such a fun event and such a great turnout. With our travels being limited, due to safety with horses at this time, we made a Western Christmas themed float! 🌵🏜️

Happy Trails❣️🐴

Miss Indian Rodeo, Cajaun Cleveland, would like to remind our communities that during periods of viral outbreaks—especially those affecting our horses—it is important to return to our traditional practices of prayer, healing herbs, and strengthening our connection with our animals through the hopeful spirit of ceremony and prayer.

While we appreciate the valuable guidance shared by State and Tribal Veterinarians, it is equally essential that we continue our daily responsibility of caring for our horses. During this time, travel may pose increased risks, and Miss Indian Rodeo encourages all competitors to remain home when possible to protect the health and wellbeing of their animals.

As ranchers and horse caretakers, maintaining proper biosecurity on our ranches is critical. This includes:
• Disinfecting stalls, trailers, and tack.
• Thoroughly cleaning buckets, feeders, and water tubs.
• Avoiding the sharing of tack or any equipment that could increase the risk of exposure at this time.

Even if your horse has not been directly exposed, it is important to remain vigilant in supporting their health. This is a crucial time to review and strengthen your cleaning and disinfecting practices—while also turning to prayer for any fellow horses or family affected by this illness.

As Indigenous peoples, we honor a deep and sacred connection to the horse. Their health sustains our world—the world of rodeo, of competition, and of sport. Without their strength, dedication, and spirit, the lives we live today would not be possible. Let us remember our cultural values, lean on the power of prayer, and support one another as we navigate this time together.

To all rodeo competitors, we wish you well in your future endeavors and safe travels.

If you need more information please contact your veterinarian.

Yá’át’ééh!

This year, I had the privilege of attending and participating in the San Carlos Veteran’s Day Parade & Rodeo as Miss Indian Rodeo. Two years prior, I had the honor of representing our community as Miss Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial Queen and was delighted to be re-invited to participate.

The weekend commenced with the parade, where I was honored to witness the remarkable achievements of our esteemed rodeo queens and their companions. The parade featured an impressive array of horses, creating a truly memorable moment for all attendees.

Following the parade, we promptly relocated to the INFR Tour Rodeo to lend our support to our fellow competitors in their inaugural competition. During this event, I had the opportunity to connect with several esteemed individuals who shared their enthusiasm for meeting me. This experience holds a special place in my heart as Miss Indian Rodeo, as I am entrusted with representing the aesthetic and cultural aspects of rodeo and inspiring our younger generations to persevere in pursuing their aspirations.

The San Carlos Apache Veteran’s Parade & Rodeo is an event that is focused on sharing their appreciation and celebration of the veterans within their community, and those who travel through for this event. To our veterans, ahehéé’ nitsaagó for serving our country. It would not be without your resilience and your courage, that we would be able to continue to practice our culture, songs and our freedom today. Thank You Veterans!

Yá’át’ééh,

Last Friday, I was invited to the Winslow Native American Pageant in Winslow, Arizona. I thoroughly enjoyed this event while en route to San Carlos, Arizona for the INFR Rodeo and Veteran’s Celebration.

During the pageant, there were five remarkable contestants who represented their tribes with exceptional pride. I was particularly impressed by the involvement of the Pueblo tribes and their captivating musical performances.

I extend my sincere gratitude for the invitation to this auspicious event, which was both visually stunning and highly successful. I was also able to meet some of our nearby royalty, and expressed my deepest gratitude to them for their representation. Ahehéé’!
