Blue, an 18-month-old Catahoula Leopard Hound, is the Grand Canyon's newest four-legged employee 🐶

As more elk have become comfortable wandering into busy areas of the park, dangerous encounters with people have become a growing concern.

That's where Blue comes in! Working alongside a wildlife biologist, she uses her herding instincts to encourage elk to move away from crowded areas and back toward their natural habitat.

And she does it without ever touching the animals!

Blue has already helped move an elk away from a local school, and researchers are tracking elk movements to see how well the program works.

The hope is that Blue can help wildlife stay wild while keeping both animals and visitors safer. ❤️
