APS of Durham is an open admission shelter, and cares for more than 5,000 animals each year. The adoption package at APS is all-inclusive - your new pet will come home with a basic medical exam, spay/neuter (dogs, cats and rabbits), vaccines, a microchip (dogs and cats) and lots of love from our staff and volunteers. DURHAM, LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE (& WE STILL NEED HELP). ❤️

So far this August, 181 animals have been adopted from APS, compared to 88 at this point last year. That's more than twice as many animals finding homes, and it's because Durham has shown up in an incredible way.

You've adopted, fostered, shared, donated, and rallied around us when we needed you most. We are so proud of what we've accomplished together.

Now, we need you to show up again.

Our shelter is full, and wonderful dogs are waiting longer than we'd like for their chance at a home. So we're making it easier to say yes: ALL DOG ADOPTION FEES ARE WAIVED THROUGH AUGUST 31. 🐾

Our dogs are ready to go home. They're spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and receiving the care they need while they're with us. All they need now is a family to take them home.

Can't adopt? Share a dog, foster, or take a dog out for the day and help them get a break from shelter life.

Durham, you've already shown us what happens when we come together. Let's keep going—let's empty some kennels, find some families, and make room for the animals who will need us tomorrow. ❤️🐾
