One of our favorite events of the year is just one week away! 🐾

The Animal Protection Society of Durham Walk for the Animals brings together hundreds of animal lovers from across the Triangle for a fun-filled day at Duke's East Campus. The easy 1.5-mile walk is just the beginning — stick around for pet contests, a mini agility course, and a vendor fair packed with great finds. (That's where you'll find us, stocked up with Barnes swag! 🛍️)

It's a great cause and an even better time — we hope to see you there!

Oh hi, hibiscus! 🌺 We just got in the most gorgeous hibiscus plants & they probably need to go home with you.

These beauties are easy to care for, have a long bloom season, and are basically a welcome mat for hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. 🐝🦋

It really is a small world! 🌍 Our owners Gary & Patricia were on a riverboat cruise in Amsterdam when a fellow passenger recognized their accent and asked where they were from. Turns out it was Shermalyn and her sister Aldra — from Efland, NC!

Once they got to talking, Shermalyn mentioned she shops at Barnes and the rest is history.

You just never know where you'll run into a Barnes Supply family member — apparently even Amsterdam! We hope this is just the first of many run-ins around the world! ❤️

What an amazing morning! 🐥🌱 We had the best time welcoming 1st graders from EK Powe Elementary to Barnes Supply Co.!

The kids are studying goods and services, so Brandi gave them a tour of the store, walked them through our different departments, and talked about why shopping small in your community matters. 💕

They got to meet our baby chicks, ask all the great questions only 1st graders can ask, and take home a goodie bag to grow something of their own. 🌿

We absolutely love having young visitors in the store — and we can’t wait to welcome more classes next week! 🛒❤️
