History of the Duluth Dog Depot
The Duluth Dog Depot building originally was owned and previously used by the railroad for employees to sleep in when working on the track. The building dates from the turn of the century. The train at that time ran from Atlanta to Washington, and still does.
Duluth Animal Hospital occupied the building in 1979. It was renovated and remodeled several times, and the veterinary practice grew quickly over the next decade. In 1990, the hospital outgrew the original building, so the new Duluth Animal Hospital building was erected in its current location!
In 2018, construction on the Duluth Dog Depot began. The new facility features three beautifully fenced dog parks, a full grooming salon, and luxurious boarding suites. The mission of the Duluth Dog Depot is to provide a fun, safe, and elegant facility where dogs can stay, play, and receive outstanding grooming and spa treatments.
