Planned PEThood of GA is a 501(c)(3) animal welfare nonprofit celebrating 15 years of impact- offering affordable veterinary care, low-cost spay/neuter, community outreach, feral cat programs, humane education, and feline rescue, foster, & adoption. Based in Duluth, Georgia, we rely on the generosity of donors to provide a range of vital services and programs that support pets and their families.

Our offerings include affordable veterinary care, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, and vaccinations, as well as community outreach, feral cat programs, humane education, and rescue/foster/adoption efforts.

⏺️ Our Wellness Clinic in Gwinnett County provides low-cost routine veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and treatment for minor health issues. By making these services accessible, we help pets live healthier lives and keep families together.
⏺️ Outreach Events bring essential resources to communities where access to veterinary care is limited or unavailable. These events often include free vaccinations, microchipping, and pet food and supplies - removing barriers and meeting families where they are.
⏺️ Our Community Cats program helps Georgia residents care for both friendly strays and unsocialized feral cats. Through humane trap-neuter-return (TNR) services and support for colony caretakers, we reduce overpopulation and improve the lives of outdoor and feral cats. Our Working Cat (Barn Cat) program gives unsocialized felines a safe home and a purpose as natural pest control.
⏺️ Humane Education and Youth Programs empower current and future pet owners to become responsible caretakers through educational clubs, special events, and online resources.
⏺️ Our Foster & Adoption Services give vulnerable cats and kittens a second chance by placing them in loving foster homes until they are ready to find permanent families. Mission Statement: Helping pets and their families by providing innovative programs and affordable services that save lives. Tagline: "Because rescue starts before the shelter." 🐾💙 Our K.I.R.A. (Kids Interested in Rescuing Animals) Club met on October 4th, and it was a pawsome day dedicated to pitbull awareness!

Sandy from Habersham Humane Society joined us to share her expertise on pitties, bust some myths, and inspire our kids with the truth about this misunderstood breed. The kids also watched an educational video, asked great questions, and created adorable “Adopt Me” bandanas to help local shelter dogs find their forever homes. Sandy took all the bandanas back with her so shelter pups can wear them proudly! 🐶✨

A big thank you to everyone who joined in — our future animal advocates are learning and making a difference one class at a time. 💕

Our next K.I.R.A. Club session is November 1st — we’d love to see you there!

Adoptable Pet Spotlight 💡
Meet Bubble Gum – a shy little sweetheart with a gentle soul. 🍬💕

Born around April 25, 2023, Bubble Gum has already overcome so much in her young life, including surviving panleukopenia. She may be timid at first, but with patience and love, her sweet personality begins to shine.

Bubble Gum loves the company of other cats and would do best in a quiet home with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. Once she feels safe, she enjoys pets, cuddles, and playtime—especially if you tempt her with a wand toy or Churu treats!

She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped (chip will transfer to her new family), and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

The Countdown Begins: 100,000 Surgeries in Sight!

Big news! We’re on track to reach a historic milestone: 100,000 spay/neuter surgeries completed at our Duluth clinic by the end of 2025!

Every surgery prevents unwanted litters, reduces overcrowding in shelters, and saves countless lives.

This incredible achievement is only possible because of supporters like you who believe in making a difference for animals in our community.

Stay tuned as we share updates on our progress and how you can help us cross the finish line. Let's fix the future together!

When a Barn Cat Becomes Family ❤️

When Kee Shenett adopted Zodiac (now Zo) from our Barn Cat Program back in March 2024, she thought she was just giving a working cat a safe home. What she didn’t expect was gaining a brand-new family member.

After his incubation period, he decided that he liked indoor family life better than barn life! He’s now loving his family, including 2 dog sisters and a dog brother (all rescues).

He has an older adult human sister that is his 2nd favorite person. He definitely loves his mama the most. She was sick a couple of weeks ago and he rarely left her side! And he loves his cat tv!

Kee shared, “We couldn’t be happier with the turn of events." Look at these adorable pics!
