Want to grow the biggest, heaviest tomatoes on the block this summer? 🍅 Here are a few game-changing secrets from our tomato growing guide:

🌱Plant Them Deep: Don't be afraid to bury the stem! Tomato seedlings develop extra roots along the buried stem, giving the plant a massive, strong foundation to absorb water and nutrients.
🌱Feed the Roots, Not Just the Leaves: Prepare your soil with a high-phosphorus, low-nitrogen blend (like a 7-22-8 mix) to encourage early root development without forcing the plant to produce too much exhausting foliage.
🌱Prune the "Suckers": If you’re growing indeterminate varieties, pinch off those small shoots where branches meet the main stem. This forces the plant to focus all its energy on growing massive fruit instead of extra leaves!.

Want a lush summer lawn without wasting water? It’s all about watering deeply and less frequently.

Here’s a quick tip: Always measure your water in inches, not time! A fixed spray head might take 30 minutes to apply 1 inch of water, while a rotary nozzle could take up to three times as long.

IFA's Lawn Watering Guide is packed with expert tips to get your sprinkler schedule on track.

Is your lawn getting enough water in the summer? Find out and learn other tips for better grass watering habits with IFA's lawn watering guide.

🚜Farm Fact: In 1935, most tractors still rumbled on bone-jarring metal wheels until a test proved that switching to rubber tires boosted fuel efficiency by 45%. This discovery was a huge relief for farmers everywhere, and a victorious redemption arc for the inventor who had previously thrown in the towel on tractor ties to go invent the fountain pen instead.

🐔Farm Fact: Chickens don’t have sweat glands. Instead, chickens rely on their combs and wattles to regulate body temperature during the summer months. Because the comb is an external appendage, it remains cooler than the rest of the bird’s body. As blood circulates through the comb, it cools before returning to the core, helping the chicken maintain a stable internal temperature.

While their combs do a lot of the heavy lifting, your flock still needs a hand when the temperature spikes. If you see your chickens panting or holding their wings away from their bodies, their built-in AC is working overtime.

Make sure they have access to plenty of deep shade and fresh water. Head to your local IFA Country Store to stock up on poultry electrolytes and waterers to keep your girls happy and healthy all summer long!

Did you know that feeding your lawn in the summer can actually help it CONSERVE water?

When temperatures rise, your grass needs the right defense mechanism to beat the heat. Applying IFA’s Step 3 Spring & Summer Lawn Food does exactly that:

1️⃣ Boosts Drought Resistance: Higher amounts of phosphorus and potassium stimulate deep, healthy root growth so your grass can maximize water absorption.
2️⃣ Promotes Water Efficiency: Essential micronutrients help the grass optimize how it uses water, keeping it green during high-stress periods.
3️⃣ Prevents Water Runoff: Pairing your fertilizer with a soil-wetting agent like Revive helps moisture pe*****te hard, compacted summer soil instead of just running off.

Give your lawn the tools it needs to stay green using less water!
