We want to share an important update with our community: we have seen an increase in parvovirus cases in our area. Parvo is a highly contagious illness that can be devastating for dogs. Even with treatment, many patients don’t survive, and managing an outbreak in a shelter requires significant time, resources, and strict isolation protocols.

💙The most important thing to know is that parvo is highly preventable. Routine puppy vaccinations provide strong protection and dramatically reduce the risk of infection. 💙

If you’re caring for a new puppy or an unvaccinated dog, please make sure they’re protected. A quick visit to your veterinarian for the parvo vaccine series can prevent immense suffering and help keep our entire community safer.
