Dachshunds are scent hounds with high prey drive. They were bred to hunt, covering a lot of ground, sniffing out badgers, rabbits, and other small game. This means that they are they are controlled by 2 things: their nose and their belly!

Your pet is more likely to be returned home if they have a registered microchip! It does not take the place of ID tags, but it's a permanent form of identification, which can not be removed or lost. It's very important to make sure your pet's chip is registered to you with current contact information!
