This evil w**d has become part of the focus of my week as I need safe swimming areas for the dogs. There is absolutely no good way to handle this w**d. Even the removal process causes another problem as it’s a cloning plant, so touching it just propagates it. The aerator causes another problem. I started out in a canoe and realized it was faster just to get myself in there and start pulling. Yes it’s absolutely disgusting. I’m scratched and bruised, my arms are sore, but I don’t know a better way. If you have any better ideas, please let me know.

Chase, the newest destroyer of pricey leggings and joggers in the house! I’m raising Chase for a little while, but he is bound for a full-time job. In the meantime, he will be sure to leave a path in his wake! Benebones + workout pants = 😬…. Price of doing business! He’s a very sweet boy with an absolute ton of go go go!

After hours of working in the pond today, I put away my tools and brought the dogs out to swim. We spent an eternity in the water, had to call it quits at the end when I got accidentally dunked and my waders filled with water for the second time today. Chase took his first swims, the labs had a ball (literally) and Gavi - my first ever Doberman to swim! - ran and jumped in and out about 100 times. Beautiful day today!

About a year ago after a chance run in with a friend and coach from , while recovering from multiple surgeries, I made the decision to go back to the gym after many years of letting my fitness go ignored. I wasn’t sure how it would go. Well, it’s still going. Every single thing about my day is now easier. My work is better. I am happier. I have lost 65 pounds. I can do more in less time. I am still working to bring down my weight and add muscle, but doing this the right way (finally!) takes lots of time. Thanks to skilled and patient coaching from - I’m able to see the big picture and have remained injury free despite a body full of wear and tear. I hope to put together some more videos in the future about exactly how this has work has improved the life I live with dogs. One of the most important things I’ve learned - you are never too old to start! This is what self-care looks like for me these days. And I can’t take care of others without taking care of myself. Hauling these 50 pound bags of dog food is looking a lot different and feeling a lot better these days. 🙌
