Update: she is in a foster home now but is still available for adoption!
Coraline is a sweet little 3-month-old pup who is ready to find a foster or forever home! She's still learning and growing, so her new family should be ready for all the fun, patience, and puppy training that comes with raising a young dog.
The good news? Coraline already knows how to sit! She's smart, eager to learn, and absolutely full of love. She may be little, but she has a whole lot of personality and so much potential. Please give Coraline a chance to grow up surrounded by a family who will love her and help her become the best dog she can be. Coraline is available for foster or adoption and is ready to meet her future family!

🐈‍⬛ Meet Hazel! 🖤

Hazel is a gorgeous adult cat who has been patiently waiting for almost three months to find her forever home. We can't understand how this stunning girl is still waiting!

Hazel is a simple girl who knows what she likes: cozy beds, tasty snacks, catnip, and plenty of love. She especially enjoys being brushed and will happily settle into her favorite comfy spot for some well-deserved relaxation.

She's ready to trade her shelter space for a cozy home where she can be spoiled and loved for the rest of her life.

If you're looking for a beautiful, laid-back companion who appreciates the finer things in life, come meet Hazel. She has been waiting long enough, and she deserves to know what it feels like to be someone's forever cat. 🖤🐾

*we caught her 😁 thank you!
Trapping in progress near Avenue J in Dickinson. If you see this dog, please do not approach or feed her. We have a trap set with food for her, and it is important that she does not eat from other locations. We have multiple sets of eyes on her and will do our best to catch her as soon as we can.🐾

If you know this dog’s owners, please send them our way. Thank you for helping us safely get her to her family.

🐾 THIS Is What Community Collaboration Looks Like! ❤️

Every single day, kittens are being born outside in our community.

Under houses. Behind businesses. In sheds. Under porches. In drainage areas.

And too many of them eventually find their way to us sick, injured, underweight, orphaned, or needing medical care.

We don't want that anymore.

We don't want to keep waiting until kittens are already suffering before we step in.

We want to prevent the litter from being born in the first place. ❤️

That's exactly why our **Community Cat Program** matters.

Through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), outdoor community cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, ear-tipped, and, when appropriate, returned to the communities they already call home.

And when we find friendly, adoptable cats and kittens along the way?

We work to give them a chance at a different life. 🐾

But every surgery costs money.

And this is where an AMAZING community collaboration comes in.

Bayou Friends Forever, Inc. is launching a fundraising campaign dedicated to helping support Dickinson's Community Cat Program, while our incredible partners at Animal Alliance of Galveston County are offering deeply discounted services to help every donated dollar go even further.

This is what working together looks like.

Animal Services provides the boots on the ground.

Animal Alliance helps make the veterinary care affordable.

Bayou Friends Forever helps fund the mission.

And our community helps keep it going. ❤️

Because TNR isn't just about the cats we're helping today.

It's about the kittens that won't be born outside tomorrow.

It's about fewer sick kittens arriving at the shelter needing medication and veterinary care.

Fewer injured cats.

Fewer overflowing kennels during kitten season.

Fewer resources spent responding to the same cycle year after year.

And ultimately, a healthier and more manageable community cat population throughout Dickinson.

This program is an investment in the future.

Doing the work on the front end—spaying, neutering, vaccinating and managing our community cat population—can help reduce the much greater costs associated with repeated litters, shelter intake, housing, feeding, vaccinations, medical treatment and placement.

Prevention makes sense.

For the cats.

For the shelter.

For our community.

And for our taxpayers. ❤️

Bayou Friends Forever now has a dedicated donation link specifically for Dickinson's Community Cat Program, and proceeds raised through this link will support this mission and help us continue getting community cats spayed/neutered and vaccinated.

Whether it's $5, $25, $50, or simply sharing this post, you're helping create change that will reach far beyond the cat we trap today.

Healthy cats. Healthier colonies. Fewer litters. Less shelter intake.

And hopefully, someday...

far fewer tiny kittens arriving at our doors because life on the streets was already too hard. ❤️🐈

This is a long-term mission.

And we're ready to do the work.

Bayou Friends Forever, Inc. + Animal Alliance of Galveston County + Bayou Animal Services + our community.

🐾 Let's get Dickinson's community cats healthy.

❤️ Maybe the Animals Have It Figured Out

If you spend enough time in an animal shelter, the animals will teach you a few things.

They don't spend much time worrying about yesterday.

They wake up every morning believing something good might happen.

A walk might be coming.

A favorite person might stop by.

There might be a new friend to play with.

Someone might walk through the door and decide they can't possibly leave without them.

**Today might be the day.**

And even when it isn't...

They get up tomorrow and believe it all over again.

We've watched animals come through our doors during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Scared ones.

Injured ones.

Confused ones.

Animals who had every reason in the world to stop trusting people.

But give them a little time, a little patience, and a whole lot of love...

and somehow, that tail starts wagging again.

They play.

They trust.

They love.

They move forward.

And eventually, you realize something.

Resilience has four paws! 🐾

Maybe that's one of the greatest things these animals teach all of us.

You don't have to know exactly what tomorrow looks like to believe there's something good waiting there.

You just keep showing up.

Keep loving.

Keep doing the next right thing.

And when tomorrow comes...

you get up and try again. ❤️

Around here, we've seen that lead to some pretty incredible happy endings.

And we have a feeling there are plenty more still to come. 🐾❤️

❤️ A Letter From Beasley: Keep Your Head Up

Hey guys,

It’s me, Beasley

Some of you might remember me.

I used to sleep where you sleep.

I knew the sound of the shelter waking up in the morning. I knew the sound of the kennel doors opening. I knew what it felt like when someone walked through and you stood up just a little taller because maybe... maybe they were coming to see you.

And I knew what it felt like when they kept walking.

I was there for 147 days

Yep.

147.

That's a lot of breakfasts. A lot of walks. A lot of nights going to sleep and waking up still waiting.

But I was a good boy.

I kept loving my people at the shelter. I kept going on my walks. I kept playing. I kept giving kisses. I kept being **me.

Because they kept telling me something.

“Your family is out there, Beasley.”

I wasn't completely convinced. 😂

I mean... 147 days is a pretty long time to wait for somebody who is supposedly “on their way.”

But guess what?

They were right.

One day, my people came.

And suddenly, those 147 days didn't matter anymore.

I wasn't the dog who had been waiting for 147 days.

I was somebody's dog.

So I wanted to send a little message back to my friends at Bayou Animal Services tonight.

I know you're waiting.

I know some of you have watched other dogs leave before you.

I know you've probably wondered why nobody has picked you yet.

Keep your head up.

Tomorrow is another day.

Maybe tomorrow someone will stop in front of *your* kennel.

Maybe tomorrow someone will share *your* picture.

Maybe tomorrow a foster will say, “I'll take that one.”

Maybe tomorrow your person will walk through those doors and everything will change.

And if tomorrow isn't your day?

Be patient.

Be kind.

Keep being the good boy or good girl you already are.

You've got some pretty great humans taking care of you while you wait. They'll feed you. They'll love you. They'll take you outside. They'll give you fresh blankets and toys. They'll tell everybody how wonderful you are.

You're in good hands.

Trust me.

I know. ❤️

It took **147 days** for my family to find me.

But they found me.

And yours can find you too.

So tonight, curl up in your bed. Get some sleep. Don't worry so much.

Tomorrow is a brighter day.

I'll be over here cheering you on from the other side of happily ever after. 🐾

Love,

Beasley
Former shelter dog. Current very good boy. Professional reminder that sometimes the best things are worth waiting for. ❤️

**P.S. To all the humans reading this...**

There's a Beasley sitting in a shelter right now.

Maybe they've been there 10 days.

Maybe 100.

Maybe longer.

They don't know you're coming yet.

But wouldn't it be something if tomorrow was finally their day? ❤️🐾
