👋🏼Hello all I just wanted to throw out some reminders for all of our new and existing clients!

We seem to be having more and more cases of the following points 👉

1. Vaccines-
Please be sure that your pet is up to date and current on vaccinations. The State of Iowa and Dept. Of Agricultural requires all pets to be current on both RABIES and DISTEMPER/ PARVO. Before entering our facility.
❗️We also recommend Bordetella but this isn't required.
We have a 24-hour waiting policy after any vaccination have been administered. This is in case your pup has an allergic reaction to vaccines or soreness at an injection site.
✔️We send out reminders as a courtesy, but ultimately, it is the responsibility of the owner to make sure that your pet is up to date and current on all state required vaccines.

2. 24-hours Notice Policy-
We REQUIRE at least 24 hours notice to cancel/reschedule an appointment. This includes no-shows. If we do not receive 24-hours notice your file will be noted and you will automatically be charged $28 at your next visit.
⚠️This includes being turned away due to vaccinations not up to date.

3. Drop-off and Pick-up
We are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! This means that we work hours based on our appointment books. We are usually in the shop between the hours of 8am-4:30pm (some days our groomer come at 8:30am), however if we have no-shows/cancelations or get done early we will leave for the day. We expect that you drop off at or before your scheduled appointment time and arrive to pick up promptly after receiving a text or call that your pet is ready, unless otherwise discussed with your groomer.
We typically allow 3-4 hours for a full groom and 2-3 hours for a bath and brush appointment. However it doesn't always take this long. As groomers, every day looks very different for us.

We are small salon and limited on kennel space.The absolute latest pick up time being 4:30pm. Pick-ups after 4:30pm will incur a late pick-up charge. (Charges vary depending on time of pick-up)
‼️We ask that you please be respectful of our time, as most of our groomers are working Mom's and travel anywhere from 25-45 mins.

4. Senior Pets-
Grooming can be extremely stressful for senior pets. Please check with your vet. to be sure your senior is well enough to be groomed. Your pet must be able to stand for bathing/blowdry and grooming. Your pet's health and wellness is Top priority, understand that grooms for seniors may be geared more towards comfort than perfection.

5. Fleas & Ticks-
Please be sure that your pet is on a regular flea and tick treatment. We are seeing a lot of ticks so far this year. If we do find fleas on your pet, we will automatically wash them in a flea & ticks shampoo. This is an additional $13.

My Story

My name is Leah and I am the owner and soul groomer of DogWorks LLC. I founded the company in 2019 after 12 years in the corporate grooming industry. After over a decade of experience, I took a leap of faith and opened DogWorks. My passion is grooming pets. Making your pets look and feel their best is my number one priority.

I have always been passionate about animals, from taking in strays as a young girl to completing my Vet Tech degree at Des Moines Area Community College after high school. I build a unique bond with every pet I groom and believe establishing a trusting relationship with my clients is the key to a healthy & happy grooming experience.

I pride myself on keeping my shop clean, quiet, and comfortable, creating a stress-free environment for your pet. As the soul groomer of DogWorks, you can be assured that your pet will receive one-on-one attention throughout their visit. If your pet has received an unfavorable grooming experience in the past, I ask that you trust my experience & expertise to give your pet the best service in town.
