Puzzle toys are great to help your dog learn to think and use his sense of smell as they work to figure out how to solve the puzzle and gain a reward, usually in the form of a treat, along with your praise. They also provide dogs with great mental stimulation when you are out and, if playing together, can help strengthen the handler/dog bond. Some great board game puzzles can be found by Nina Ottosen.

I have sad news to share. Mr. Skye, a member of the Critter Care family recently crossed the rainbow bridge. He was a sweet golden retriever who had such a goofy personality, and loved adventure.

Pet sitting goes far beyond providing food, walks, and companionship. It’s about building trust and forming a genuine bond. As professional pet sitters, we become part of a pet’s daily rhythm—offering comfort, stability, and affection. Over time, we come to know their personalities, quirks, routines, and preferences. Naturally, that connection grows.

Skye was a good boy, and I will miss him. ❤️

At Olivia’s Critter Care enrichment activities are a great tool I love to use for dogs.
In this video, Millie and Merle are enjoying sweet frozen yogurt treats. You can also use peanut butter, apple sauce, eggs, bananas or blueberries.

Enrichment has been shown to have wide-ranging benefits for dogs including promoting relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety, improving resilience, strengthening bonds with their people.
