Angels to the Animals area. A team of residents joined together by Mickey Mack, our lead angel who has shown compassion and caring for animals for several years.

Angels to the Animals is a 501(c)3 animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of unwanted, abused or neglected animals in the Lincoln County, N.C. Our ragtag team care for neglected, chained and forgotten dogs throughout Lincoln County by providing food, water, shelter/straw, vet/medical care, spay/neuter, fences, walking and lots of love. We

are able to do what we do with assistance from HATS, Heart of the Carolina's Animal Ministry, Lincoln County No-Kill Animal Shelter as well as many generous individual donors. Our ultimate goal is to be able to re-home these wonderful animals into loving foster/adoptive homes whenever possible. Thank you for joining us! We are so glad you did!

When we say Maverick has come to love and appreciate life indoors, we aren't exaggerating. This strikingly handsome boy has truly turned into the perfect housemate, and is now in search of the happy ending he's always dreamed of! Maverick has a heart full of hope and a deep desire to connect. He craves affection and guidance, and has a true sense of belonging. He is house-trained, very smart, and walks beautifully on a leash. Maverick picks up new cues quickly with an eagerness to please. Whether he is enjoying outdoor adventures, or curling up for cuddle time, this loyal and affectionate guy is ready for love, and asks for it with every glance and tail wag. Maverick adores every adult he meets, and has done well with some other dogs—though he hasn't been tested off-leash yet. So he would likely do best in a home with dogs around his size. Alfonso is a true hero and a domestic violence survivor who overcame an abusive past with his previous owner's boyfriend and being dumped at a storage facility with a fractured femur. Thankfully, we got him the life-changing surgery he needed, and he has healed beautifully and is thriving in the care of his foster mom. Alfonoso is an absolute gem of a dog, dog- and cat-friendly, and exhibits zero prey drive. This sweet boy on has a play drive. He's loving and wants to be friends with every human he meets. Alfonso is a fantastic car companion who loves riding with his head hanging out the window, or just lying down to enjoy the trip. He does not know a stranger and, remarkably, does fine with all the men he has met, despite his past. He would love a forever home with another four-legged playmate or older children. Because he had to stay strictly confined and calm for close to two months while recovering, he can get a little overly excited during playtime, but he does settle down nicely. You truly will not be disappointed if you welcome this resilient, loving boy into your family!

Meet Afro, a silly, goofy guy who is about 8 years old and has lived outdoors his entire life. Our organization has helped care for this sweet boy for the past 6 to 7 years, and despite weighing a solid 90 pounds, he genuinely believes he is a lap dog! Afro loves nothing more than chasing a ball, though instead of bringing it back, his signature move is to just happily roll over on top of it. During recent severe weather, a volunteer brought him inside for a couple of nights, and he was a total gentleman who never had a single accident in the house.

Reba: super sweet, loving, 100% crate trained, easily entertained, low maintenance, loves to play outside, almost fully potty trained, knows sit command.

Garth is a cuddle bug, super sweet, loves to play outside and chase his sister, 100% crate trained, almost potty trained, loves to play with toys, knows sit command and working on other commands stay and lay down … super smart.

Howdy, my name is Patches, and they say I'm the runt of the litter. I only weigh about 3 lbs, but don't be fooled by my size. I'm a rootin' tootin' and fun loving little boy, and I'd love to fill your home with lots of love, laughter and adventure! My Mama is a Chihuahua mix, so I'll probably be kinda small like her.
