🌈🙏💔 In Loving Memory of Sierra Mist (253389)

Our sweet Sierra Mist, the sister of Starry, passed away on June 28—just 3 days after we rescued her from Apple Valley Animal Shelter. She was just a puppy at around 5-6 months she had some congestion issues and like all the other dogs require a medical waiver from the facility of Apple Valley Animal Shelter. Tragically, she died quickly from pneumonia before we even had the chance to get her fully tested.

We are currently documenting seven different strains of viruses in the dogs coming out of this shelter, including canine COVID and DISTEMPER. Five of our recent rescues have already tested positive for distemper, and multiple other disease, and others are fighting severe upper respiratory illnesses. Puppies like Sierra Mist simply don’t stand a chance when battling multiple illnesses at once.

We are exhausted from the uphill battle of trying to save these innocent souls:
• Strict compliance requirements (including mandatory spay/neuter deadlines)
• High fees
• And the devastating reality that many of these dogs are deathly ill. Also, there are very few rescues even pulling from this shelter so the dogs that are on the euthanasia list or Rescue only basically don’t hardly even have a chance.

We are not veterinarians. We are not medical facilities. We are doing the best we can with the resources we have. Since January 1, thanks to the generosity of our amazing donors, we have already spent over $50,000 on medical care for dogs coming out of Apple Valley.

Sierra Mist life mattered. She was not just a number. We loved her deeply, and in her short time, she taught us how serious and deadly these illnesses are—especially pneumonia and distemper in young puppies. We will honor her memory by continuing to fight for the others still waiting behind bars.

Rest in peace, sweet Sierra Mist. We will never forget you. 🕊️❤️

We are so sad for all the innocent lives that could’ve had a happy family, a happy life and made people happy. If only the people in charge of these dogs cared enough to find them homes and make sure that they’re not sick. Maybe a world where people care about each other and animals will happen one day.

💔💔💔THESE 10 SWEET SOULS WERE UNLISTED FOR EUTHANASIA ON A DAY THE SHELTER WAS CLOSED AND SWIFTLY KILLED WHEN THEY REOPENED. AVAS Rescue Team INTERFERED WITH THE SALE OF AVAS TO COUNTY SO THEY COULD CONTINUE THEIR MASS MURDER OF INNOCENT PETS IN THEIR "CARE" 🤬 THIS IS WHY THE SHELTER IS KNOWN AS APPLE VALLEY DEATH CAMP. Town of Apple Valley, California the blood of these sweethearts is on your hands for voting against the sale of AVAS to county, and instead giving the employees a raise while continuing to collect money from county.

One of our board members got a call from a local resident who discovered a mama dog and her 3 puppies abandoned in Apple Valley desert. They asked if our rescue could step in—and of course, we said yes!

Now, these two sweet souls are finally safe and all snuggled up with their new foster. ❤️

Rescued! 🐾 Dianna ( #253040) and Cassie ( #253039) were pulled from Apple Valley Animal Shelter just hours before they were scheduled to be euthanized. 💔 Sadly, many other dogs that day did not make it out, but these two were the only ones saved from that list. They are truly lucky dogs.

One of them has some eye issues that will require veterinary care, and we could really use your support. If you pledged for them, please honor your pledges—thank you so much! 🙏

Devastating update just days after being rescued. This baby died of severe pneumonia so quickly within eight hours of declining. unfortunately the dogs are coming out of Apple Valley very sick again we have three confirmed cases of distemper and three cases being tested right now looking like six confirm cases of distemper. We have six other upper respiratory illnesses being documented including canine Covid. When you put all these together in one dog, they don’t have a fighting chance especially when it’s a five month old puppy. This is how they’re coming out of the shelter…. They’re even making Rescue sign medical waivers.

Our update from Apple Valley Animal Shelter Euthanized list today 7/25/2025

The new list of dogs scheduled for euthanasia has already been carried out. Sadly, the only two dogs marked “safe” were the ones we pulled, and the only other dog on the list was returned to its owner.

We seem to be the only rescue pulling from Apple Valley again this week. 💔
We need donations desperately we’re pulling dogs with no pledges. And some of them are sick.

This stunning girl is a 1-year-old Cane Corso mix who was recently saved from Apple Valley Animal Shelter. She’s already vaccinated, microchipped, and will be spayed soon.

KAA weighs about 70 lbs and is the perfect mix of playful, smart, and sweet. She loves learning new tricks, is friendly with people and other dogs, and absolutely steals hearts wherever she goes.
