Meet Pickles, a 5-year-old mellow masterpiece 🥒

Pickles found herself in a Houston shelter as a stray, and sadly, when her family was contacted, they chose not to reclaim her. Despite that heartbreak, Pickles remains incredibly sweet, calm, and quietly affectionate. She’s the kind of cat who doesn’t demand attention, but when you offer it, she leans right in and melts into those perfect cheek scratches.

She’s a true low-key companion. No chaos, no dramatics, just peaceful vibes and soft companionship. Pickles may look permanently unimpressed, but don’t be fooled. Beneath that perma-angry expression is a gentle, loving girl who just wants a cozy spot and a human to adore.

We don’t know her history with other cats or dogs, so Pickles may be happiest as an only pet, where she can soak up all the love without competition. She’s also proudly described as a heckin chonk and would love a supportive partner to help her continue her weight-loss journey toward a healthier, happier life. Think less “diet,” more “team wellness with snacks measured responsibly.”

2025 marked our very first full year in operation for Denver Kittens, and what a year it was. We set out with hopeful, ambitious goals: rescue 65 kitties and spay and neuter 120 cats. We’re incredibly proud to share that we didn’t just meet those goals, we increased their impact by 35%, providing life-saving love and care for over 250 cats and kittens in Colorado and neighboring states.

Along the way, we welcomed 14 new foster homes into our community and secured a new veterinary partnership with , expanding access to reduced-cost care for our fosters and added benefits for adopters.

Partnering with , we were able to give out over 5,000 cans of cat food to local cat parents and rescues, helping to keep Colorado’s cats fed.

And when Colorado Gives Day arrived, our supporters showed up in the most extraordinary way. We surpassed our $10,000 stretch goal, raising over $15,000. Those funds will ripple far beyond this year, allowing us to provide even more spay and neuter services for local cats who need them most.

None of this happened by chance. It happened because of compassion, commitment, and a community that believes every cat deserves a chance.

We’re so proud of the work we’ve done and look forward to the work we’ve yet to do. Here’s to 2026!

Meet Mar, a two-year-old Russian Blue mix with storm-cloud fur and a sunny little heart. She is one of those rare cats who acts like she has been your roommate forever. Mar warms up fast, leaning into pets, offering gentle head butts, and chirping like she has gossip to share.

She loves being in the orbit of her people, but she is not clingy. Hand her a toy, and she’ll invent her own entertainment. Give her a window, and she’ll nap like she’s on a meditation retreat. Offer steady meals, soft blankets, and kind company, and Mar becomes the picture of contentment.

She is a major biscuit baker and would love a human who appreciates her excellent kneading technique. Mar does well with other cats, and though we don’t know her dog history, she should be fine with respectful kids who understand gentle boundaries.

Meet Quintin, an 8-month-old floofy heartthrob with the kind of majestic tail that deserves its own fan club. If you believe in love at first sight, Quintin is ready to prove you right. This boy is all charm and confidence, greeting everyone he meets like an old friend and diving straight into snuggles without hesitation.

Quintin is wonderfully social, incredibly affectionate, and always up for attention. He adores other cats and truly needs a playful feline friend in his forever home to help burn off his happy kitten energy. When he’s not cuddling, you’ll find him joyfully chasing wand toys, zooming around with his buddies, or proudly showing off that glorious plume of a tail.

He recently arrived from Texas after being found as a stray, but he’s made it clear that indoor life suits him perfectly. While we don’t know his history with dogs, he could likely adjust to a calm, cat-friendly pup. Kids are a big yes too, Quintin loves being part of the action.
