I would like to apologize in advance for any slower than usual communication on my end. Our dog Sq**rt has been diagnosed with cancer, and we are trying to spend any and all of our “extra” time taking him to his favorite places and doing his favorite things while he still can. As always the animals in my care are top priority, so this means that non immediate scheduling and replying to inquiries is what I am able to push back a little bit as needed. I will still be getting back to everyone, just please expect an extra day or so for this category of communication. I truly appreciate everyone’s patience with me on this, and am so thankful to have so many wonderful and patient clients.

Excited to announce that we will be opening up extra program spots this year as we will have Izzy of Midnight K9 working with us with our board and trains, day trains, and boarding dogs!

Izzy has years of experience working with high-level board and train programs, adventure-based training, and private sessions and she brings a passionate, results-driven approach to working with both dogs and their handlers. Im so happy to have her on the team as an amazing additional resource for our current and future clients and to give us more reach to be able to help more people and their dogs!

The dates we will be opening up extra spots are:

This is true for all dogs, but ESPECIALLY German Shepherds due to the potential for bad hips! Remember that an overweight dog isn’t feeling their best, and this is often reflected in behavior as well as health!

Let’s talk German Shepherd weight—because “big boned” isn’t a health plan.

The ideal weight for a German Shepherd usually falls between 50–90 lbs:
• Males: 65–90 lbs (some big boys tip the scale a little over 100—think linebacker energy)
• Females: 50–70 lbs (strong, sleek, and ready to herd your feelings)

But weight isn’t just about the number on the scale. You should:
• See a waist when you look from above
• Feel the ribs and hips (not see them from across the room)
• Avoid the “potato with legs” look

Keeping your GSD at a healthy weight means a longer, happier, more active life—and fewer vet visits for joint issues.

So go ahead, give them love and adventures , not extra snacks.
