⚡️Ollie’s E-collar intro! Pt. 2⚡️

This is the next step in the process for me. I pick it up and play the same game with him. Shove your nose through the hoop

I start to look for more commitment to the behavior. I don’t want him to just smash his face through it, I want him to smash his face into it and commit to it.

I’m only moving this fast because I am racing the clock, and Ollie is a very motivated dog. Yours may not be. Take your time and get the desired behavior you want before moving on.

Pt. 3 tomorrow of me sizing the collar up and actually putting it on him proper

⚡️Ollie’s E-collar intro!⚡️

This is Ollie’s first time seeing the E-collar, he’s a super hype pup so I knew he would immediately be interested in it.

All I’m doing here is building an interest to the E-collar, making him a magnet to it, I want him to shove his head through it so that starts here.

Any interaction with the collar is going to get him payed, because he’s so motivated we chose to move on quickly, typically I don’t care what they do, just show interest in it, but for Ollie we moved on quick, I upped the criteria and made him shove his nose through it, he thought smacking it with his paws was the answer, so we wait him out and get the desired behavior.

Pt.2 is coming tomorrow, where we actually get the collar on him

I pushed Rizzo too far on accident unfortunately, I thought we were cool enough that she could climb into my lap, I helped her up, and all of a sudden my leg was warm🙃

Totally my fault, I pushed too much too soon.

Its all part of the game we love to play😌

⚡️Getting Rizzo conditioned to the slat mill⚡️

Sure, the treadmill is great for her exercise needs, but in this case I’m using it to build her confidence up. The first time she got on the treadmill and it moved, she 💩 a 🧱 lol. So we’re using it to show her that even when the floor under you is moving, stay calm and focused. Ultimately she will walk away way more confident from this experience and as we go on she will eventually run on it

⚡️making obedience fun⚡️

For certain dogs, I don’t like to just hammer obedience and make it “boring” some dogs love obedience, others, not so much lol.

For those dogs who don’t, I like to try and make it a little fun for them.

Meaning I won’t have them sit/down for super long times at first, or I won’t make it to where they’re missing out on things because of their position, not at first at least. And I won’t force them to do it too much with pressure because they can hold the position, accountable for their annoyance.

So we have to be careful to not do that with a dog who already doesn’t like to do obedience.

You will “yuck their yum” and make obedience suck in their mind.

So we keep it short, fun, and dynamic at first to hopefully make them at the very least have a good time while doing the obedience. It doesn’t always have to be boring!

⚡️Getting Charlie to “dress” himself in his collar⚡️

This is something I do to flip tje script on the dog and get them to enjoy putting things on them, this could be an E-collar, slip leash, prong collar, it doesn’t matter.

This is for the dogs that bob and weave when you go to put their gear on, or just if you want your dog to enjoy getting geared up, this is how I do that.
