Sometimes just sitting or standing, around till your dog relaxed in their environment can do wonders!

Meet nena, she is a nervous nelly 😂 she can get frightened with loud noises and new things, so I stood around near a busy loud street till she relaxed and laid down.

This was after a good walk around town too so she was already getting tired. She laid down in about 5-10 minutes!(:

Teaching dogs that come from the shelter can look scary at times, but with patience and commitment you will find, No Dog is Beyond Help, When We Learn To Be True Best Friends, to Man's Best Friend! True friendship is built on understanding their needs and offering unwavering support, they are more than just pets, they are family!

Here you will see snow causing some issues at the dog park. After an appropriate correction and time to relax, he was able to let the other dog play with her ball in peace! Not all dogs need or should be corrected, but when you do it right it will make all the deference!

Working with Snow from the Stockton shelter. He hasn't had enough socialization so thats what we were doing today. Here's a clip of from the day you can see he is a little unsure at first but warms up pretty fast. then something triggered him near the end, possibly just her standing over him compared to here kneeling.
He's not 100 comfortable during the interaction and still learning to trust strangers, this just shows how fast things can cause a dog to react. overall he did great today and I'm proud of his progress!

If you're looking to adopt Snow is looking for a committed home to keep up his training and socialization. once he gets to know you he is just one of the sweetest dogs and LOVES to play! He's also enjoys running, he cant keep up with me on my runs but he sure tries! So he would do well in a moderately active home!

If you interested in adopting, please contact the Stockton shelter!

There are many Important reasons to Train Your Dog for Everyday Life

Training your dog isn’t just about commands — it’s about preparing them for real life.

Everyday life is full of challenges for a dog:
new people, loud noises, other dogs, unexpected moments, and situations they don’t understand. When we don’t teach them how to handle these things, they’re left to figure it out on their own… and that’s when fear, reactivity, and bad habits show up.

Training gives your dog confidence, structure, and clarity.
It shows them how to navigate the world safely and how to trust you through it all.

A trained dog isn’t “perfect.”
They’re prepared.

Prepared to walk calmly by your side.
Prepared to greet guests without jumping.
Prepared to stay steady when life gets loud or unpredictable.
Prepared to follow your lead because you’ve shown them how.

And the bonus?
Training strengthens your relationship more than anything else you could do.
Your dog learns to look to you for direction, and you learn how to communicate in a way they naturally understand.

Dogs don’t need us to be perfect, they need us to be clear, consistent, and loving leaders.

Because at the end of the day, training is a way of saying:
“I care enough to help you succeed in this world.”

No dog is beyond help.
Every dog can thrive when we take the time to guide them.

Vylet is still in search of her forever home! Don't make me keep her, cuz I will! 😂 On a serious note if you or anyone you know has been thinking about getting a German Shepherd feel free to tag or share the post with them(:

This girl is one of the best dogs you'll ever meet! Even after several months of not taking her out or working on her commands she still jumps right back into working mode when I take her out:) like any dog she will need time to adjust to her new home and owner but if you work with her even a little bit each day she will respond to your commands in no time!

With her adoption you will also get free training sessions to go over what she knows and how to work with her and teach her new commands!

She is about 5 years old, already fixed and current on all her shots, great with people old, young, kids it doesn't matter, she loved them all! she is located in Delhi ca

She was originally surrendered to me because of altercations with another female dog in the house.

like most these kinds altercations they could have been prevented with the right management and since she's been here not only has she done great with a bunch of other dogs but I've even watched her old pack mate AKA Beauty, the girl she would have altercations with and they were able to get along just fine with my supervision!

That being said she does need a home that understands this past and is willing to work on it if it presents itself in the future, this will also be included in the training package!

Why I chose to use an E-collar with the Shrimp!

09/11/2025

Working with a new rescue named Shrimp! recently pulled from the shelter this boy is here mainly for dog reactivity, but we also need to teach him to relax a bit and make sure he knows he cant Just bolt out of the gate when he sees it open.

Shrimp has a lot of pent up energy and he just doesn't know what to do with it. In this video we are mainly going over the gate threshold, how we are teaching him not to bolt. We also go over some different tools and why I decided we should switch some of the tools we were using.

Do you have a hard time communicating with your dog?

Start with conditioning them to your own markers, so you can pin point the behaviors you like or dislike.

It's much easier to teach our dogs what's expected of them when we have words they know means the behavior they just did was good or bad.

So its best to condition them to their markers before putting them in situations where you might need to correct or reward a behavior.

One of the most common issues we find is people trying to teach their dog without a good foundation of communication. If they don't know what you mean when you try to correct or reward them, they will not be able to associate the behavior they just did with what you are saying. You'll basically just sound like the teach in charley brown to them.
