A+ Dog Training

A+ Dog Training Be confident and proud to take your dog anywhere. Train your dog to be an absolute joy to be around! My dogs seized drugs, explosives, and people.

I was one of the first twelve Air Force Canine Handlers to be chosen to help support First Marine Expeditionary Force in Operation Iraqi Freedom. I was blessed with the best training possible from our United States Air Force. Needless to say, I am very patriotic and still get nostalgic when I listen to “I’m Proud to Be an American” by Lee Greenwood. After the Air Force, I was a Canine Handler & Su

pervisor for Kontraband Interdiction and Detection Services (K.I.D.S.Inc). I trained at least 12 dogs to detect and alert illegal drugs, alcohol, and gun powder based substances to keep kids safe in their schools. I trained at least 15 associates, police officers, and sheriffs to train and handle their own dogs. I also gave demos at schools and worked with kids. This job really helped me to become more of a people person when communicating how dogs should be trained. It also helped me transition from a military lifestyle to the “civilian world”. I traveled all over California and my favorite schools to go to were in San Diego. Fortunately, my wife has a many relatives there so I still have reason to vacation Dog Beach in SoCal. My beautiful wife, GiGi, is an awesome third grade teacher with a personality that people gravitate to. I helped her pick her first puppy which she named Ammo. She always grew up with dogs, but she never raised one from a pup on her own. It not only taught me how difficult owning a puppy could be for others, but how important it is for a household to be on the same page with commands and communication. We love educating and helping others which is how A+ Dog Training became our business. After school, you might find her walking only in front of your neighbor’s house with Ammo while I’m working with your neighbor and their dog on how to be calm at the front window! Like humans, not one dog is the same as another and I keep an open mind when training. If you ask me what my favorite breed/age to work with is, I will tell you that it’s the dog that will give me the biggest challenge! With experience, a friendly personality, and my calm-confident patience, I am sure that we can come to a solution for your whole family to bring out the best in your dog! I believe that I have been given a gift of communicating with people on how to turn their dog into the healthy, happy, well-balanced dog they once fell in love with. Feel free to set up a consultation where you can get to know more about me and how we can help your family.

Dog training isn’t just about teaching Sit and Stay. It’s about understanding your dog’s behavior as well as the humans’ behaviors and lifestyle at home. It’s about dog psychology and trying to get every member of the household to be on the same page. It’s about motivating and figuring out what drives your dog, specifically. It’s about motivating you to get through the puppy and adolescent years. It’s about communicating with you on how to communicate with your dog, and how your dog communicates with you.

These are all skills that take years to master. A+ Dog Training has put in the work and time to not just teach your pack family how to obey commands, but also how to create peace in the home between human and animal instincts.

It’s hard to find a specific dog training conference, but A+ Dog Training always wants to improve. For the past four years, we’ve celebrated Tom’s birthday in Palm Springs for four days, then finished our week with a Christian business leadership conference held by Bob Harrison. This year, we were excited to listen to John & Lisa Bevere. GiGi had just finished one of Lisa’s books and was ready to take notes on what she had to say in person....

GiGi had just finished one of Lisa’s books and was ready to take notes on what she had to say in person.

We want to thank all our current clients who allowed us to take last week to recharge, reignite our fire for our business, and celebrate Tom’s birthday by watching the Dodgers win. What a series!

A+ Dog Training is taking Milo’s walk to the next level. I noticed Milo jump as we walked closer to a construction site. Allowing Milo time to explore the unnatural objects and sounds will help when Milo goes on family trips and is exposed to new environments.

A+ Dog Training would like to take this Monday post to motivate you to work on your dog’s courage. It’s a great bonding and trust exercise. Make sure you don’t “baby talk” or soothe and comfort your dog while they are working through their fear.

Happy Motivational Monday with love from Milo and A+ Dog Training!
