City of Del Rio Animal Services Our visiting hours are Monday and Wednesday, from 1:00 PM-4:30 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.

The City of Del Rio Animal Services department exists to prevent the spread of disease from animals to humans, enforce local and state laws and increase the number of animals that leave the Animal Control facility alive.

🐾 Foster Homes Needed for 3 Sweet Pups 🐾

Sometimes the hardest part of our work is knowing that we can’t always do it alone. Right now, we have three pups who desperately need foster homes so they can hold their place with their rescues. Without fosters, it becomes very difficult to keep them safe until their journey continues.

These dogs are scheduled to leave for their rescues on October 22nd, but until then, they need a safe and loving place to stay. Even a short-term foster can make the biggest difference in their lives. 💔

If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the time. Please stop by to meet them, or give us a call for more information. You could be the reason these dogs get their second chance.

🐾 Friday Transport Success! 🚐✨

Last Friday, our team traveled to San Antonio, TX to meet a dedicated volunteer from Austin Pets Alive!. Together, we successfully transported 5 dogs, 8 cats, and 5 tiny kittens. 💖

Thanks to their amazing team and staff, these precious animals are now on to the next step in their journey toward loving forever homes. 🏡💫

🐾 Paws + Positivity at Laughlin AFB! 🐶✨

Our adoptable pups Rosie, Piper, and Libby had the best day visiting the dorms at Laughlin Air Force Base for a special “Pet De-Stress” event! 💙 These sweet faces brought plenty of tail wags, cuddles, and smiles to the airmen who call Laughlin home.

A huge thank-you to Laughlin Air Force Base for welcoming us, and to our amazing volunteer Amanda for making sure the pups could spread some joy. We’re so grateful for opportunities like this that let our Animal Services crew share a little extra love with our community’s heroes. 🐕‍🦺💫

🐾✨ Another successful transport is in the books! ✨🐾

This past Friday, our team traveled to New Braunfels to meet with APA volunteers and safely transported 4 dogs and 9 cats to begin their next chapter. 💕

Last week, on September 3rd, two of our incredible volunteers also stepped up in a big way:
🚐 Alex transported sweet Pudge (Bulldog mix) to San Antonio, where she was transferred by Austin Pets Alive to Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue near Buffalo, NY.

🚐 Wayne Morgan transported little Chispita (Chihuahua mix) to Texas Chihuahua Rescue in San Antonio.

We are beyond grateful for their dedication, time, and huge hearts. ❤️ Thanks to teamwork like this, our animals are one step closer to loving homes.
