Meet Daddy Long Legs! This 5-year old incredibly docile soul came to us from an owner who is trying to make sure he lands in a perfect quiet spot where he can be his best self. Daddy ‘O was originally part of a massive hoarding case two years ago that spanned MA – NH where 80 boxers were ultimately surrendered and adopted out among several organizations. These boxers had not been socialized or seen the light of day and were very fearful of the outside world. His last owner did everything he could for Daddy! But he lives in a busy urban area and realized that this environment was holding him back from truly relaxing. He made the selfless decision to surrender him to our rescue out of love, and we are thrilled to report he is thriving in a quiet foster home away from the hustle and bustle of city living. With his looooong skinny legs, Daddy lives up to his name. He is an itty-bitty boxer at only 35 lbs, with the best nubbin tail around! His inky coat with brindle markings is gorgeous. And that underbite? Be still my heart! Like his namesake, everything about Daddy is harmless and innocent, without a single ounce of venom in his personality. He is a homebody and would prefer a predictable and consistent routine in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Another doggie sibling (or more!) is a must, as DLL loves dogs and is learning so much about how to be a dog from his foster siblings. He bounds around the yard like a gazelle, experiencing a newfound joy in being outside that he couldn’t understand for most of his life. Daddy is a pure delight and will shower you with love, smiles, and all that is good in the world. Cindy Lou is looking for either an adopter or a foster home. Her current foster is moving, and we’d really love for Cindy Lou to land somewhere stable before then.

You may remember Cindy Lou was originally adopted from us as a hospice cat. In a development that surprised everyone, she turned out to have too much energy for that role. Despite still having cancer, Cindy Lou remains affectionate, spirited, and very committed to being involved in whatever’s happening around her.

She deserves a soft place to land—and ideally one she won’t have to leave again anytime soon.

MA.. this precious one is waiting to be scooped up!

Yabba Dabba Doo…Meet Bam Bam! This 10-years young itty-bitty (yet beefy!) bulldog came to us from Harvard Animal Control after being picked up as a stray and he could seriously be a prehistoric couch potato! We are in love! His #1 priority? He needs his next stop to be his last stop after being failed by humans time and time (and time and time and time and time) again. This amazing dog has had over 6 homes in the last 2 years through no fault of his own. We’ll repeat that…through no fault of his own. Yikes! A huge thank you to animal control for all the sleuthing with his microchip to find out as much as possible about this little bean. We are shaking our heads about the lack of responsibility and empathy in our society, but…onwards and upwards for this brave and resilient lovebug! We promised him…the best is yet to come and there is absolutely NO reason so many irresponsible humans should have given him away. He is spectacular! The name Bam Bam is ironic for such a little and docile guy. He is a petite bulldog at 38 lbs in a compact body. He takes the stairs one at a time (and allows for the executive service of being carried if he doesn’t feel like climbing). He is SOOOOO squishy with soft and floppy neck skin and a nub for a tail! And we love his tan freckles! He allows everything…baths, nail trims, ear cleanings, teeth brushings, cleaning his folds. He may have selective hearing due to his breed, but when he hears the treat jar open, he instantly drops into a “sit” with a pathetic look of expectation. This makes us think he had a loving owner most of his life and was part of a family as a valuable and loved member and that makes us happy. He loves a schedule, his naps, couch snuggles, and (obviously) treats! He is quiet and easy-going but is a total character! He tap dances for food and hot rods in the dirt every time he pees. And now he just needs a forever home and a Bedrock all his own. Have a resident Dino or Baby Puss at home? Bam Bam has been great with all creatures and is living with multiple cats and dogs in his foster home. Bam Bam is just looking for a Barney and Betty all his own. Someone to love him forever and ever after all he has been through. Senior week continues!!!

Meet Mr.Duff

Mr. Duff is a 12 year old male Toy Poodle who weighs 10 pounds.

This adorable senior toy poodle is looking for a soft place to land and people to adore him through his golden years. Mr. Duff has been such a lovely little gentleman at the shelter, charming staff and enjoying time with other dogs. He may even enjoy sharing his home with cats.

Mr. Duff is a sweet, friendly companion who still loves getting out for walks and taking in the world around him. He does take medication to help manage ongoing skin issues, and his future home should be prepared for that continued care.

This tiny guy has so much love left to give and would be thrilled to spend his days snuggling, strolling, and being someone's devoted little buddy. If you are looking for a gentle senior dog with a warm personality and lots of heart, Mr. Duff would love to meet you. This guy will also need regular grooming to keep his coat nice.

Senior week continues!

Meet Doug! Our oldest senior of the bunch 💙

Doug is a 16 years, 1 month old male Cairn Terrier/Mix who weighs 16 pounds.

Doug is a very special little soul looking for a soft place to land. At 16 years old, this vintage Cairn Terrier has found himself starting over in a shelter, and we would love nothing more than to see him spend his golden time surrounded by comfort, kindness, and gentle love.

Doug's life was bumpy before coming to us. He spent a lot of time confined to a crate, and big open spaces can still feel confusing to him. His vision is not the best these days either, but one thing Doug is always enthusiastic about is mealtime. A cozy bed, a predictable routine, and someone patient enough to help him feel safe would mean the world to him. Doug can be suspicious when first touched by new people, but when he finds out he has friends, Doug leans in and enjoys touch. Doug is looking for a home that can let him bop around outside for a bit, and appreciate all of the fun outside smells that he loves.

There is something deeply touching about Doug. He is quiet, soft hearted, and deserving of sweet days ahead. Doug may be able to live with other calm dogs and would love a peaceful home where he can finally rest and simply be loved.
