Please be on the lookout for Hattie, she is still missing. 😢
9-26-24 Safe at last!
"Hattie" missing from Jamaica Plain for 19 days is found & safe!
Hattie traveled an untold number of miles through Brookline, JP, West Roxbury, Hyde Park, and all the way to Dedham and back. She did not stop moving for the entire time that she was out. Thank you to all who called in sightings.
The biggest impediment to Hattie's recovery was that people kept chasing her, and terrified, she would bolt. There is a reason we ask that lost dogs not be pursued......Hattie was tucked in beside someone's stairway this morning, and her dad lay silently on his belly for hours, silently inching closer to her, until her brain slowed down a bit and she recognized him!
Hattie's mom and dad did an amazing job hanging in there, listening to guidance from MDM volunteer Katie F., and having to suspend instinct and do what would help to ensure a successful recovery.
Hattie is at the vet getting a once over, but looks to be in good shape!
If you should be out and about in the areas mentioned above, and see any Hattie flyers, please remove them and place in the nearest recycling bin - it would be much appreciated
