Because Discrimination Bites

OUR STORY – OUR MISSION

Shorty’s Rescue started in Los Angeles in 2001 and our headquarters are in San Diego, California and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Our goal is to bring awareness of our bully breeds and fight for their rights, fight against dog fighting and fight against breed specific laws (BSL) throughout the United States and Mexico. We offer monthly free vete

rinary care to low-income individuals and families. We provide free monthly dog obedience training classes to low-income individuals and families. Rescue, rehabilitate, train, and re-home bully breeds through our Geisha’s House Foster Program. We offer free spay and neuter clinics to low-income individuals and families with Hercules' Mobile Clinic Motorhome. Participate in Keynote Speaking Engagements. Enlighten Bully Breed Breeders regarding their contribution to the homeless Bully Breed Population. Pet Owner Support Program to keep our Bully Breeds where they belong by providing food, veterinary care, and training to qualifying individuals. Education Resource for responsible Breed Guardianship, Breed Awareness, Animal Rights, and fighting against BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) laws. Creating a strong voice against stereotyping and stigma—we do not seek your pity and don’t appreciate your prejudice. We are here to help one discrimination case at a time through education, enlightenment and to fight, if necessary, for the underdogs of the world.

English First - Espanol Abajo!
This Thursday will be our 11th clinic of the year and these clinics would not happen without our sponsors Spaying4Change, Chiquita's Friends, Tito's Handmade Vodka, and all of private and individuals donors like you these clinics would never happen and we want to say THANK YOU!

We want to also thank Veterinaria California and Colegio de médicos veterinarios en pequeñas especies de Ensenada for providing the great veterinarians that help save thousands of lives every year

Without any of the sponsors, donors, organizations and groups mentioned above, not of these clinics would never happen.

We do these clinics in collaboration with Dirección de Administración Urbana, Ecología y Medio Ambiente, along with Erika, Oscar and Omar. If it wasn't for them this collaboration would not happen.

Last year we spent over $45,000 USD on these clinics by spaying and neutering over 1,000 dogs and cats, vaccinated over 1,600 dogs and cats, as well providing over 1,100 flea and tick treatments.

Next month we are in collaboration with Spaying4Change, SL3 Technologies and Geraldine of Chiquitas Rescue we will be doing over 400 surgeries and as many vaccinations we can do in the Municipality of Ensenada.

We want to continue this work for as long as possible but we need your HELP. Hopefully tis year we will save more lives than we did last year. In the comments post you can see the link of our video and other ways to donate. We need your help to save all of these lives.

Who wants to visit Shorty’s Ranch in Mexico? This is 25 years in the making. Ranchito de Shorty, a private mini ranch, is not a rescue center or animal shelter, it’s the permanent home of our family’s non-adoptable animals, including pit bulls/bully-type dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, quails, peacocks, and more. Omar, his wife Paola, his son Matteo and I reside on the ranch.

I traded in my 2000 sq ft house for a 300 sq ft trailer, occupying only about 5% of the ranch. The rest is dedicated to our animal family.

Come join Shorty Rossi and Bellona at the Bully BOO Walk in Fresno, California on October 5. Register online in advance here: https://fresnobullyrescue.org/bullyboowalk

THE THEME THIS YEAR IS "Zombie Apocalypse"
This year’s Bully Walk will be an easy and enjoyable 1-mile stroll through Woodward Park, along a path that is nearly 90% shaded with plenty of water features. We’ve added lots of doggy dip and water stations along the way, so your pups can stay cool and comfortable while you walk together. It’s the perfect distance to get your dogs moving without pushing them too far!

Once the walk is done, the fun is just getting started! Head back to the event area and enjoy OVER 40 vendors, raffles, photo booths, delicious eats from a taco truck, snacks, refreshing drinks, and our always-popular Costume Contest with great prizes and celebrity guest judges. Don’t forget to dress your pup in their Halloween best—they’ll also have the chance to “trick-or-treat” around the vendor booths.

🐾 Advance online registration is strongly encouraged! It helps make your morning smoother and allows us to better plan for our guest count. However, if you miss the online deadline, you can still register in person at the event between 8am–9am (cash or card accepted).

ALL dogs are welcome! While this event helps raise awareness and support for bully breeds, participation is not limited to them. Bring your four-legged friend—no matter the breed—for a day full of fun, community, and celebration.

😂

Bellona and Toro are already best friends. They look like noisy neighbors gossiping with each other. 😂

Say hello to our latest family member who couldn’t stay with his family because of their landlord so this 2 year old boy is on his way to Mexico. This should be an interesting ride. Bellona was so excited all she wanted to do is play.
