Fireworks may be fun for us, but they can be frightening and stressful for our pets. If your pet struggles with anxiety during fireworks, now is the time to call us about calming medications and other options to help keep them comfortable and safe.

Here are some additional tips to help reduce your pet's stress:

🐕 Exercise During the Day

Take your pet for plenty of walks, playtime, or other activities before the fireworks begin. This can help reduce excess energy and anxiety later in the evening.

🏠 Create a Safe Space

Provide a familiar, comfortable room indoors where your pet can feel secure. Close all doors and windows, and play calming music, white noise, or the TV to help mask the sound of fireworks.

🦴 Offer Special Treats and Toys

Keep your pet distracted with high-value treats and enrichment toys. A Kong stuffed with frozen peanut butter can provide a fun and comforting distraction.

🤗 Try a Calming Wrap

Products such as the Thundershirt® Calming Wrap provide gentle, constant pressure that may help reduce anxiety and stress in some pets.

🏷️ Check Identification Tags

Make sure your pet's ID tag has current contact information. If you need a quick solution, a luggage tag attached to the collar can work temporarily.

Fireworks are one of the leading causes of lost pets. While microchips are not tracking devices, they greatly improve the chances of being reunited with your pet if they become lost. Be sure your contact information is up to date. If your pet is not microchipped, contact us to schedule an appointment.

🐾 Although these herbs may add flavor to your meals, they can be TOXIC to your furry friends and cause red blood cell damage. Garlic is the most poisonous of the three and can cause vomiting, weakness, nausea, and collapse. So, be careful and keep these ingredients away from your pets!🚫
