Hello everyone!

This is the official fan page of The Happy k-9 Training & Rehabilitation.I have daily updates, photos and videos of my board and train and my 1 on 1 in home sessions. With so many families struggling with even the basics of dog obedience, this page is a breath of fresh air that shows the results and the training of real world dog training. So many families have gone to 6-12 even 18 weeks of dog tr

aining and still not even gotten the basics down. It is not supposed to be like that and I offer folks an alternative. My name is Nelson Mendoza and I am Obedience dog trainer, i train dog owners and rehabilitate/ educate dogs. I also deal with owners that struggle with dog and or human aggressive dogs. I would like to welcome anyone and everyone to my page. We will update pictures and videos weekly when dealing with clients and will update daily with FREE training tips and advice. Feel free to ask any questions you have on training, exercises, tools, bonding tips, anything that comes to mind. Welcome and looking forward to change owners and dogs lives! The way your dog is today does not have to be the way it is tomorrow.

Izzy’s story is a pretty special one. 🐾❤️

When she came to us, she was reactive toward dogs and other animals, constantly on the go, resource guarding, fighting other dogs in the home and struggled to settle or simply turn it off. With a move from Massachusetts to Colorado coming up, her owner Jamie Crockett wanted to make sure Izzy had the tools to handle new environments and experiences with confidence.

Today, she’s a completely different dog.

Calmer, more focused, able to settle, and able to enjoy the world around her without constantly being overwhelmed by it.

This is what we love about this work — helping dogs and their owners get to a place where they can actually enjoy life together.

One of the biggest keys to long-term success is staying consistent, and that’s exactly what our Alumni Group Classes are for.

You don’t need to carve out three 30-minute training sessions every day to make progress. 🐾

Some of the best training happens during the moments you’re already spending with your dog.

Playing fetch? Ask for a sit, down, or place before throwing the ball. Going for a walk? Practice engagement and reward good choices. Waiting to go through a door? Use it as an opportunity to reinforce patience.

Training doesn’t have to take over your day—it should become part of your day. Make it a lifestyle.

The real test of training isn’t what happens in a quiet training field — it’s what happens out in the real world 🐾🌎

Busy city streets, crowded sidewalks, train stations, elevators, passing dogs, unexpected distractions, and everything in between.

This recap highlights a few of the dogs that recently completed their programs and put their training to work where it matters most. Different personalities, different challenges, and different goals — but all building the same thing: confidence, clarity, and trust.

One of our favorite moments was watching Boo hold a down-stay on the sidewalk while his dad walked across the street, signed for a package next to a delivery truck, and returned before recalling him back to the house. That’s not just obedience — that’s trust, understanding, and proof that the training is holding up in everyday life.

Because at the end of the day, training isn’t about creating perfect dogs. It’s about helping dogs and owners navigate the world together with more confidence and understanding.

We’re incredibly proud of every team featured in this video and how far they’ve come. 👏

🐾 Small wins become big results.

Chiku, a 6-month-old doodle, came in to start building the foundation every young dog needs — clear communication, confidence, and reliable on-leash obedience.

Through consistency, structure, and owner education, Chiku made great progress learning how to focus, walk politely, and better understand what’s expected.

Go-home day isn’t the finish line — it’s the beginning of a stronger relationship and a lifetime of good habits.

Different ages, same goal 🐾🖤

Gunna at 7 years old and Violet at just 5 months showed that no matter where a dog is in life, there’s always room to build better communication, confidence, and structure.

Watching these two learn side by side was the perfect reminder that training isn’t about perfection — it’s about creating clarity, building trust, and helping each dog become the best version of themselves.
