Bowe's Buddies Bowe's Buddies is a very unique nonprofit organization that fosters All animals in need from local animal shelters. She gave birth to 7 kittens in July of 2020.

A 501c3 organization that could use your help. Bowe's mom came into a local animal shelter very young, very sick, and very pregnant. Unfortunately, a foster home was not available until all but, Bowe and his sister Peach were left. Bowe was born with a condition called Radial Hypoplasia or
underdevelopment or lack of development of the radius bone, so he needed to find a home with an experienced owner. Sweet little Peach was just a bundle of happy healthy joy and found her forever home too.

🚨🐾 WHY IS SCRAPPY DOO STILL WAITING?! HE NEEDS A HOME NOW! 🧡

SINCE JUNE 15, 2026. 💔

That’s how long sweet Scrappy Doo has been waiting at the City of Allen Animal Shelter for someone to choose him.

OVER FOUR MONTHS. FOUR MONTHS WITHOUT A FAMILY OF HIS OWN. 😭

And we just can’t understand WHY because this boy is an absolute GEM! 🥹🧡

🐾 He’s playful! Full of energy and always ready for an adventure.

🚗 He’s the ultimate copilot! Scrappy LOVES car rides and exploring new places.

🧡 He’s a cuddle bug! After a day of fun, all he wants is to snuggle up with his favorite human.

🦴 He’s a GOOD BOY! Just ask his friends at Petco! He’s incredibly gentle taking treats and eager to learn.

🐕 He’s still learning! His leash manners need a little polishing, but he’s food-motivated, affectionate, and ready to make someone very happy!

Scrappy Doo isn’t asking for much. Just someone to love him, take him on adventures, and give him a place to call HOME. 🏡

He’s spent far too long watching other dogs find their families. IT’S SCRAPPY’S TURN!

National Cat Day is celebrated every October 29 to raise awareness for the many cats needing rescue each year. This special day encourages adoption, celebrates the joy cats bring to our lives, and promotes responsible pet ownership. Consider adopting a shelter cat, fostering a cat through our foster partners at Bowe's Buddies or simply showering your feline companion with extra love.

POV: this is your sign to foster kittens. 😻❤️

You don’t have to commit forever to change an entire little life.

A spare bathroom, a quiet bedroom, a little patience and a safe place to land can be the bridge between a shelter and a forever home.

And yes — sometimes fostering looks like tiny paws, ridiculous naps and kittens completely taking over your camera roll. 😂

If you’ve ever thought, “Maybe I could foster…” please apply. We need more homes willing to open their doors and help give these babies a safe place to grow.

This is exactly why foster homes matter. ❤️

Lexie’s foster family describes her as incredibly gentle, affectionate and kind.

She knows her commands.
She understands house rules.
She’s house-trained.
She loves cuddles.
She’s dog-friendly.
She has been calm and gentle around children.

And within just a few DAYS of entering her foster home, they said it felt like she had always belonged there. 🥹

A shelter can tell us some things about an animal. A foster home can tell us SO much more.

Fostering gives dogs like Lexie the chance to decompress and show us who they truly are in a home environment — information that can ultimately help them find the right forever family.

And sometimes the foster gets a pretty great cuddle buddy in the meantime. ❤️

This is Bear. 🐻❤️

But when he entered the shelter, his name was Caesar — and he was struggling.

Bear was showing major signs of kennel stress. He would spin in circles inside his kennel and watch people come and go.

And that’s something we wish more people understood:

The dog you see inside a shelter kennel is not always the dog you’ll see in a home.

Shelter environments can be loud, overwhelming and stressful. Some dogs shut down. Some pace. Some bark. Some seem anxious or completely unlike themselves.

Then Bear got his chance.

A family met him, brought him home and renamed him Bear.

Once he had time to decompress, his real personality started to come through.

Today, Bear has a dog sibling to cuddle with, loves playing tug-of-war, starts his mornings at the dog park and is reportedly treated like an absolute prince. 👑🐾

Sometimes the most important thing we can give a shelter animal is simply the chance to show us who they really are.

That’s one of the reasons fostering matters so much.

A home environment can reveal the dog hiding underneath all that shelter stress. ❤️

Six months.

That’s how long Cream waited.

When Cream first arrived at the shelter, he depended completely on his sister, Sugar, for confidence. They were both terrified, but together, Cream could find his courage.

Then Sugar was adopted.

Cream was left behind.

For nearly six months, this scared boy would curl himself into a tiny ball in his kennel — making it incredibly easy for potential adopters to walk right past him.

He had meet-and-greets.

They just weren’t his people.

Until now. ❤️

CREAM WAS ADOPTED THIS WEEKEND! 🎉

He is officially home, safe, cozy and loved by the family he waited so patiently to find.

This is why we don’t give up on the scared ones.

Sometimes they just need time.

🐾 Happy tails, sweet Cream!
