Friends of Dallas Animal Services exists to directly benefit Dallas Animal Services by supporting programs and services that further its vision of providing compassionate care of shelter animals and finding positive outcomes for placeable pets. It is comprised of a group of devoted individuals who, first and foremost, believe that all animals deserve the highest quality of life. We understand the

importance of credible partnerships and are determined to leverage those relationships in a way that elevates the work of DAS. Friends of DAS directly benefits DAS by supporting programs and services that further its vision of providing compassionate care of shelter animals and finding positive outcomes for all placeable pets. DAS envisions a sustainable live release rate of above 90% through its Dallas90 initiative. DAS achieved this goal for the first time in history in 2020 and needs your help to continue this positive trend. Sweet Easter is looking for a family to call her own! This gentle girl has a loving heart and a curious spirit. She enjoys being close to people, sniffing hands and quietly soaking up affection.

Have a passion for photography and animals? Our Animal Marketing “Fur-tographers” volunteer opportunities might be the perfect fit for you! ✨️

With so many pets coming into DAS every day, we rely on creative volunteers to help get their faces out into the world and boost their chances of finding loving homes.

We have two ways to get involved:

📱Tier 1: Phone Fur-tographers
No professional experience or equipment needed! If you can take a photo on your phone, you can help save lives. These volunteers update pet photos within a day or two of intake, often snapping pictures right through kennel doors—no animal handling required.

📷️Tier 2: Pro Fur-tographers
Have a DSLR camera and photography experience? These volunteers help our longer-stay pets truly shine with professional-quality photos used on our website, social media and adoption platforms. Pro Fur-tographers work alongside Animal Handling Volunteers for safe, efficient sessions.

Every photo helps tell a story—and every story helps a pet get one step closer to adoption.

Volunteering truly makes a huge difference in an animal’s life by increasing visibility and improving their chances of finding a loving home. 😺🐶

Meet Velvet 💜

A fluffy adult cat with a name that fits her perfectly. Soft, elegant and quietly captivating, she’s currently settling into foster care while she waits for her loving home.

Velvet is still getting to show her personality, but what we do know is that she’s feeling safe, loved and finally getting the chance to relax and just be a cat. Meet Fusion 💕

Fusion is the perfect mix of adventure buddy and cuddle companion. This sweet 1-year-old greets people with a wagging tail and loves spending time with his foster day trip buddies. Whether he’s going for walks, riding in the car for a pup cup or relaxing after an outing, Fusion is happiest by your side.

He’s potty trained, crate trained, knows “sit,” and walks beautifully on leash right beside you. Fusion also enjoys puzzles, lick mats, sniffy walks and gentle play with other dogs. He participates in the shelter’s dainty and gentle dog playgroup and has been successfully cohoused with another dog at the shelter.

Volunteers describe him as smart, calm, affectionate and an all-around wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend for both adventures and cozy evenings, Fusion is ready to meet you. 😊❤️
