Did you know we have a Dairy Laborer Pre-Apprenticeship for high school students that can lead into our Dairy Herd Manager Apprenticeship? Students in 11th or 12th grade are provided an opportunity to gain foundational knowledge, information, and skills about the dairy industry as well as the existing careers that the industry offers.

𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 single-handedly reshaped the Holstein breed through his vision for POLLED, Red & White cattle. When the experts scoffed, Mr. Burket kept his head down and just kept breeding the kind of cows that he liked. It would pay off.

Many decades later, Holstein breeders and dairymen worldwide are benefitting from the BURKET-FALLS influence in pedigrees today.

In 2010, some teenagers in Maryland with a wild dream to start a bull stud started sniffing around for Holstein breeders who were willing to work with them. Burket-Falls Farm played a key role during the fledgling days of Triple-Hil Sires.

By that time, his son John (now President of Holstein USA) had largely taken over the management at Burket-Falls, but Dave's quiet influence was still very apparent.

When we visited Burket-Falls Farm over the years, Dave Burket would nearly always be found sitting on a sofa in the barn office to greet us. We always appreciated his kindness, hospitality and interest in our endeavors. And we know that hundreds, if not thousands, of visitors would say the same!
