Meet new arrival Blue! This handsome boy is only about 11 months old and was surrendered to us very shortly after being rehomed, as he was escaping his crate and displaying separation anxiety. We suspect Blue hasn’t had the stability and attention he’s needed in his young life, and needs someone committed to giving him instruction and exercise. Blue seems INCREDIBLY smart, as he is excellent on our new agility structures and does fantastic with guidance. He knows “sit” and “paw,” and while he still has a lot of puppy energy we think he will thrive with someone ready for a zealous companion to go on adventures, learn new tricks, and experience life together! 🐾

Willow is an affectionate girl who is gentle with children and has tested well with other dogs her size. She is a low-energy dog who prefers to spend her time just being near those she cares about. She likes stuffed animals, walks, kong toys, and peanut butter. She is not suitable for a home with small animals like cats or chickens. Willow was adopted from us last year and was unfortunately not a good fit for their home, as true to her breed she can be protective over her family and will display guarding behavior. She is a Great Pyrenees mix and is about 3.5 years old!

Snuffy arrived to us with 22 other dogs in January. A handful of these dogs are still patiently waiting for loving homes! Snuffy is about 1 year 10 months old and 56 lbs. Due to his previous life of living outdoors, Snuffy starts out timid with new people and will need the time and patience to feel safe. Once he gets to know you, he is extremely affectionate! 💕 When he gets excited to see you, he does the cutest wiggles! We suspect he will be very bonded with his people and will make such a great best friend. Snuffy tries to keep his kennel fairly clean and will likely be potty trained or adjust quickly to the routine in a new home. He has also done great with other dogs and will likely enjoy having a friend. 🐾

🎉As the weekend came to end at the mega adoption event, we finished out with Chloe, Bella, and PG finding homes for a total of 10 dogs! Oak, Shadow, Bo, Trey, Jewels, Jude, and Bryce were also welcomed home for a total of 19 cats adopted🎉

🐾 We were able to transfer the remaining two dogs and ten cats into rescue partners. Thank you to Faithful Friends Animal Society for pulling Jon (dog) into rescue and to Humane Animal Partners for pulling Welches (dog) and 6 cats into rescue. Along with hosting this lifesaving event, Brandywine Valley SPCA transferred our 4 remaining cats and we are so grateful!🐾

Every kennel is full at the shelter and we are hopeful that this week will bring more adoptions🤞🏻 If you have considering adopting or fostering, now is the time. We can be reached at 252-453-8682 and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Mater, grey tabby, was surrendered today. The adult black cat was brought in from the 4400 Block of Caratoke Highway in Barco. The kitten was brought in from Lighthouse Drive in Corolla. The kitten has been cleaned up and started on medication for his eyes😊

Although our team is at the Brandywine Valley SPCA this weekend with 30 cats and 12 dogs, we are still extremely full. Animals are arriving daily and we are hopeful that every animal that got to travel this weekend find their happily ever afters🤞🏻
