🐾 **A LITTLE REMINDER FROM PACK HEALER** 🐾
Starting a rescue is hard. Maintaining one is even harder. ❤️
People see the dogs, but they don't always see the sacrifices behind the scenes. Right now, we are coming out of our own personal pockets to care for Chowder and Lux. Pack Healer does have some funds, but that money is being protected for the bigger picture — building something sustainable that will allow us to help more dogs in the future.
Every dollar has a purpose. Every decision matters. And sometimes, doing what's best for the dogs means making difficult choices.
Sometimes we have to say no to a potential adopter because it's simply not the right fit. That doesn't mean we don't appreciate the person who wanted to adopt. It means we have a responsibility to put the dog's needs first. **Rescue isn't about making everyone happy. It's about doing what's right for the animal.**
And here's something worth remembering: if you're truly in this for the animals, please don't take these decisions personally.
We may have different approaches. Different philosophies. Different ways of doing things. But at the end of the day, the mission is the same — to give animals a chance at a better life.
There are enough animals out there who need help without us tearing down the people trying to help them.
Rescue is emotionally exhausting. It's financially draining. It comes with heartbreak, frustration, difficult conversations, and sacrifices most people never see. The last thing anyone doing this work needs is unnecessary negativity from people who should understand the struggle.
**We are all on the same team.** We may not all wear the same jersey, but we're fighting for the same lives.
So let's give each other a little grace. Let's respect each other's decisions, even when our methods differ. And let's remember that behind every rescue is a group of people giving their time, money, energy, and hearts to animals who need someone in their corner.
You don't have to agree with everyone. You don't have to do things the same way.
But you can always choose to be kind.
