🍎A Little Family Update from Us! 🍎

We’re sorry we haven’t been posting much lately! Life has been a little extra busy around here with Cherie deep into nursing school and homeschool officially back in full swing. Between books, lessons, clinicals, and keeping everybody fed, clean, and pointed in the right direction… well, you know how that goes! 😂❤️

But we wanted to share a little bit of our day today.

We took a family trip to the apple orchard — a tradition that started with Cherie’s grandparents and is one we’ve been so happy to continue with all of our children. There’s just something special about carrying those little family traditions forward through the years.

Today we picked apples in a little misty rain, which honestly just made the whole thing feel extra cozy. We came home with a basketful of delicious apples that will soon become healthy snacks, homemade apple butter, and plenty of good old-fashioned apple desserts over the next few weeks.

So even though life is busy, we’re still making time for the simple things — muddy shoes, chilly noses, full baskets, and family memories. It was also the perfect way to celebrate Mabon. The season of harvest, gratitude, and gathering together. What could be better than honoring the turning of the season with family, fresh apples, and a basket full of autumn’s bounty? 🍂🍎

Today marks the first harvest, a time to pause and give thanks for the abundance around us. Lammas is an old tradition celebrating the grain harvest, the turning of the seasons, and the simple blessings that fill our days — the food on our tables, the beauty of nature, and the warmth of home.

As summer slowly begins to whisper goodbye and autumn starts waiting just around the corner, I’m taking a moment to appreciate the little things: golden fields, cozy evenings, fresh air, family, and all the gifts this season brings. 🍞🌻

Another amazing annual birthday outing to D&B with the family. Because Caspian and Bryce’s birthdays are so close we usually just go to Dave and Busters between the two to celebrate and this year didn’t disappoint. We finally found one that had the human crane machine and of course the boys had to do it. Alex, Bryce, and Caspian did well. Look for the videos to follow this post 😂. Shout out too to our big kids that worked late last night and then made the 5.5 hour drive to MI to go with us today. We love you guys and we are so glad you made it and we all got to visit. We miss you guys so much! Happy Birthday Bryce and Caspian!

Happy 7th Birthday to our sweet boy, Caspian David! 🎉💙

I can’t believe my little guy is 7 years old today. It feels like just yesterday I was holding you in my arms, and now you’re growing into such an amazing little person.

You keep us laughing every single day with your funny personality and the way you always say exactly what’s on your mind. We truly never know what is going to come out of your mouth next, and you keep all of us on our toes! Your curiosity, honesty, and big imagination make you so incredibly special.

You are one of the smartest little boys I know, and I have no doubt that if anyone can make their dreams come true, it’s you. You dream of becoming an astronaut, and I know that one day you’ll be reaching for the stars. Who knows? Maybe you really will be the one to walk on the moon.

We wouldn’t change a single thing about you. You bring so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives every day.

In the meantime, here’s a little throwback from our spring trip to Frankenmuth! 🌷

And yes… somehow we managed to have another adventure. 😂 Apparently we have a problem… and it involves finding our way back to Frankenmuth every chance we get! ❤️
